The movie stars Prabhas, Sanjay Dutt, Nidhhi Agerwal, Riddhi Kumar, Boman Irani and more. For those who do not know, the film has been making rounds on social media ever since the release of its trailer. The much-awaited horror film is set to release in a few days. The movie is directed by Maruthi Dasari, who is known for hit and iconic films. However, the filmmaker is stepping into the world of horror-fantasy for the first time with The Raja Saab. Reportedly, the film revolves around a greedy young man who plans to sell his grandfather’s old mansion. But he soon realises that the property hides supernatural secrets. Viewers can expect a journey filled with hidden truths, emotions, confrontations and complexities.
On January 8, 2026, film critic, Ravi Chaudhary took to his X handle (formerly Twitter) to share the first review of the movie, The Raja Saab. He penned a long review, in which he shared an elaborate review. He first mentioned the plot of the film and then appreciated the director of the film. The film critic explained that filmmaker, Maruthi has delivered a ‘clean and engaging’ narrative. He further appreciated the background score of the film. A part of his review can be read as:
"Just Watched #TheRajaSaab review, 4.5/rating. Direction- Director Maruthi delivers a clean, engaging narrative. He balances mass moments with spooky fun, keeping the film entertaining throughout. BGM & Music- Background score is impactful and elevates key scenes, especially the horror-action blocks. Songs are average, but the BGM does the heavy lifting."
Film critic, Ravi Chaudhary further, appreciated the acting of Prabhas and Sanjay Dutt. He explained that Prabhas’ screen presence stole the entire show. He also mentioned that the clash between Prabhas and Sanjay Dutt is clap-worthy. He concluded the review by explaining that the last 30 minutes of the film is its USB. He shared:
"Actors’ Performances- #Prabhas shines with swag and screen presence in dual shades. #SanjayDutt is a complete surprise package his face-off with Prabhas is clap-worthy. First Half- Gripping, fun, and well-paced with strong setup and entertainment value. Second Half-Goes full mass mode. A few dull moments, but the momentum holds. Climax-The last 30 minutes are the USP power-packed, emotional, and crowd-pleasing. Rating: 4.5/5 A proper paisa vasool mass entertainer made for theatres."
The Raja Saab is one of the most awaited films of 2026. It also marks the first collaboration of Sanjay Dutt and Prabhas. If reports are to be believed, the Baahubali actor charged around Rs. 100 crore, while Sanjay Dutt took home somewhere Rs. 5-6 crore. During a pre-release event, Prabhas had opened up about his thoughts on working with Sanjay. While appreciating the Khalyanak actor, Prabhas shared:
"Sanjay sir... just your screen presence is more than enough. When they put a close-up on you, you completely consume the screen...When I watched his scenes during dubbing, I started forgetting my own scenes."
