The Boys Season 5 has already created a buzz on social media. This time, 'Billy Butcher' and 'The Boys' are coming together one last time to defeat 'Homelander'. In Episode 7, the audience was left heartbroken when 'Frenchie', one of the key figures of 'The Boys', sacrificed himself for his lover, 'Kimiko'. Before dying, 'Frenchie' lies to 'Homelander' about 'Kimiko's' radiation treatment similar to 'Soldier Boy'. Now that a few hours are left for the finale episode, let’s find out what lies ahead for 'Homelander' and 'The Boys'.
Before diving deep in to know what lies ahead for the antagonist, 'Homelander' and 'The Boys' have a quick recap of The Boys Season 5 Episode 7. Episode 7 focuses on themes like love, sacrifice, betrayal and dominance. 'Homelander' seems unbeatable after he acquired the V1 formula. This possession makes the journey of 'The Boys' more challenging.
However, they come up with a dangerous backup plan. 'The Boys' plan to replicate the same radiation treatment that 'Soldier Boy' went through. Thus, to execute the treatment, 'Kimiko' becomes the lab rat. Meanwhile, 'Frenchie' tries to convince 'Sister Sage' to help him with the calculations to speed up the process.
For the unversed, 'The Deep' is an aquatic 'Supe', who can communicate with fish and other aquatic creatures and is part of 'The Seven' squad. In episode 7, the audience gets to see the never-before-seen side of 'The Deep'. It is worth noting that 'The Deep's' extreme aggression is not unknown to the audience. However, in Episode 7, 'The Deep' becomes lonely. He loses 'Homelander's' protection, who bids him goodbye and wishes him good luck.
On the other hand, he is no longer part of the ocean world. Humans don’t trust him, and thus, he no longer belongs anywhere. Losing his place with 'The Seven', 'The Deep' is now stuck without a real purpose. But 'Homelander's' calm and composed behaviour while he lets 'The Deep' creates doubts. It is suspected that 'Homelander' will kill 'The Deep' due to his incompetence. It is believed that The Boys Season 5 Episode 8 will kick off with 'The Deep's' death.
At the end of The Boys Season 5 Episode 6, the audience gets to watch that 'Soldier Boy' reunites with 'Bombsight' and eventually gives the V1 formula to 'Homelander'. This formula grants 'Homelander' immense power, immortality and also prevents his ageing. With his newly acquired power, he kills the President after 'Ashley' informs him that the President thinks that he is a psycho. In the finale episode of The Boys Season 5, the audience will see 'Homelander' killing more innocent people.
The Boys Season 5 Episode 8 will feature 'Homelander' and 'Billy Butcher's' fight as the latter lures the former to the White House. However, 'Homelander' seems unbeatable as he now possesses the V1 formula. When he tries to overpower 'Billy Butcher', 'Ryan' and 'Kimiko' come to the latter’s defence and save him. Following this, 'Kimiko's' explosion disables 'Homelander's' newly acquired power.
As 'Homelander's' enhanced powers were not so strong as 'Soldier Boy's', 'Kimiko's' explosion removes the V1 formula from the antagonist’s bloodstream. Meanwhile, 'Homelander' injures 'Kimiko'. During this fight, it is revealed that 'Frenchie's' lover, 'Kimiko', had the virus. 'Homelander' gets infected by the virus and slowly dies, hallucinating and begging before dying.
