Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce have slowed down their wedding preparations as the NFL-star sparks retirement rumours.
Global singer, Taylor Swift and NFL player, Travis Kelce are all set to tie the knot very soon. The two got engaged in August 2025, and since then have been busy planning their grand and dreamy wedding preparations. However, it looks like the wedding preparations have slowed down as Taylor and her fiance, Travis are facing their 'first real test' as a couple.
A few weeks ago, Travis Kelce made headlines when multiple reports suggested that he is planning to take retirement from the Kansas City Chiefs after the team’s disappointing 2025–26 season. A source close to the NFL star had told Daily Mail that Travis is feeling 'a bit defeated'. The source also revealed that Travis is 'missing being on the field. Further, if reports are to be believed, Travis will share his final decision to Chiefs around March 2026, a few weeks after the Super Bowl.
The source further shared that since Travis Kelce is going through a tough phase in his life, his fiancee, Taylor Swift has stopped everything else and currently is there to support him. The source revealed that the couple has slowed down their wedding preparations as Taylor’s first priority is Travis’ mental stability. The source was quoted as saying:
"Taylor is trying to put him in a better mood by spending more time with him and not bombarding him with wedding plans. She would want him to focus on (the wedding) after he makes his career decision because she knows how important that is to him. This is the first real test of their relationship."
Even though Travis Kelce has not made any decision regarding his retirement from the Kansas City Chiefs, a source close to the couple told Daily Mail that the duo has planned their life after retirement. The source revealed that the star player has planned to take on various projects post NFL-life. On the other hand, Taylor is focusing on positivity and supporting him. The source shared:
"Things are changing; he is getting to the end of what he has known all his life and dealing with potential retirement, marriage and a future family with sprinkles of a whole new life in TV."
For those who do not know, Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce first sparked dating rumours in 2023, after the NFL star expressed his interest in the Lover singer. Later, Taylor was spotted attending a few matches of Travis, which intensified the buzz. Eventually, Taylor and Travis became friends and soon it blossomed into love. After dating for more than two years, the couple announced their engagement in August 2025. Travis proposed to Taylor in a garden at his home.
Taylor and Travis made their first appearance after engagement in late August 2025, when they attended a football game at Arrowhead Stadium. Since then, the two have often grabbed attention for their wedding preparations. Earlier, a few reports suggested that their wedding will happen in summer 2026, at Rhode Island. However, recent reports claim that the couple has changed their location to Tennessee.
