The 36-year-old fitness influencer was known for sharing content on positivity and science-based nutrition. Her death was confirmed by her fiancée and fitness content creator, Jeff Nippard. Although the latter asked for privacy for Stephanie's family to grieve her death, the details about the final years of her life and the cause of her death have left everyone curious.
Stephanie Buttermore rose to fame through social media but stepped away to focus on her personal and mental wellness, away from the internet spotlight. She announced her decision in May 2024 and admitted that she was dealing with severe anxiety. For those unaware, Stephanie was finding it difficult to deal with the constant online presence. But, following her death, it has turned out to be one of the last public posts.
Stephanie had called the anxiety "crippling," and mentioned how it was difficult for her to breathe or even leave her home. Subsequently, she took some time off from the online world to regain some control over her mental health and live more peacefully. During this time, she spent quality time with her loved ones especially her mother and acknowledged that stepping away from social media enabled her to be more present in everyday life and to reconnect with them.
Although Stephanie stayed away from social media, she remained connected to the fitness and scientific community. As a PhD holder in pathology and Cell Biology, she continued to work on cancer research. Moreover, she made many significant contributions within the scientific community. However, she suddenly passed away on March 6, 2026. Jeff Nippard's team, shared a statement to confirm it. But, they did not reveal the cause behind her death.
Stephanie Buttermore and Jeff Nippard shared a strong relationship, which last for nearly 10 years. They first met in 2016 through social media. Initially, Jeff had contacted her online. Although Stephanie lived in Florida and Jeff lived in Canada, their bond quickly fell into love. They used to spend hours talking on the phone before finally meeting in person. Notably, their first date was reportedly a gym workout, reflecting their shared passion for science and fitness.
Since then, they had also formed a professional partnership and have often appeared together in YouTube videos focused on evidence-based training and nutrition. Jeff proposed to Stephanie in October 2022, and they purchased a dream home together while planning their wedding before she suddenly died. In fact, owing to her social media break, she was seen in Jeff's Valentine's Day post, which has now become one of their final public moments together.
Stephanie Buttermore was widely known for bringing a scientific perspective to fitness. She had more than a million YouTube subscribers and became a credible voice for people seeking evidence-based nutrition and workout advice. She shared her famous "All-in" journey in 2019. Stephanie was also candid about her decision to step dieting after she practised restrictive dieting for years as a bikini competitor, resonating with a lot of people. At the same time, she was a PhD holder and scientist focused on cancer biology.
