MTV Splitsvilla is back with yet another exciting season, and fans can't keep calm anymore. Splitsvilla 16, titled as Splitsvilla X6: Pyaar Ya Paisa, premiered on Friday, January 9, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. IST. The dating show introduced its first batch of 16 contestants, who will be staying in the Pyaar Villa. Among them, the number of boys and girls was evenly split at eight each. The remaining 16 contestants will be revealed on the next day's episode, and they will be part of the Paisa Villa. The show opened with a bang, and within one day, love connections, jealousy, friendships, and alliances began to form.
In episode one, three boys from Pyaar Villa were voted the female favourites. Among them was 25-year-old, Tayne De Villiers. He is a professional fighter from South Africa. Tayne cast a spell on the eight gorgeous ladies even before his arrival, with a picture of his green eyes that he sent them. During his introductory video diary, he opened up about his toxic past relationships, citing having dated two ex-Splitsvillans who left him heartbroken. Young and handsome, Tayne De Villiers has already won over most of the Splitsvilla X6 Pyaar Villa contestants and is considering two or three of them as potential partners for the show. Tayne, who initially came across as chill about dating, briefly mentioned his two heartbreaks. Recalling his exes, who were part of a previous season of Splitsvilla, Tayne stated:
"I've dated two Splitsvillans and both of them have turned out to be walking red carpets. So, I've decided to come to Splitsvilla myself and find my one true connection."
Regarding the identities of Tayne De Villiers' ex-girlfriends, one of them, Nikita Bhamidipati, was a Splitsvilla 13 contestant. Tayne and Nikita's relationship was brief but one of the most publicised and talked about. Nikita and Tayne met in Bali approximately four to five months before joining the reality show, Temptation Island India. Tayne and Nikita's relationship began very quickly, just one day after she ended a previous year-long relationship. The ex-couple then entered Temptation Island in November 2023 to test their bond, citing Nikita's trust issues and Tayne's alleged flirtatious nature as primary concerns.
Tayne De Villiers and Nikita Bhamidipati broke up in Temptation Island itself. The relationship ended during a mid-week bonfire episode. Nikita chose to pursue a new connection with contestant Jad Hadid, leading to a confrontation with Tayne and their subsequent exit from the show. The breakup episode became a highlight of the season, with the hosts Mouni Roy and Karan Kundra getting emotional for Tayne, who looked betrayed by Nikita and sobbed before leaving. Tayne reportedly began dating Kat Kristian in early 2024. Notably, Kat was a close friend of Tayne's ex-girlfriend, Nikita; however, the current dynamics of their relationship are unknown. In April 2024, Kat and Tayne publicly collaborated on professional projects, including a fashion campaign for Kalki Fashion, where they were featured together in bridal and groom attire.
Around mid-2025, reports of Tayne and Kat's breakup surfaced. However, none of them ever publicly accepted their relationship or their breakup. Speculation about their split began when their fans noticed their lack of hangout seshes or joint Instagram posts. No information regarding the reason for the breakup is available online.
