She was a devoted wife, cherished stepmother, daughter, sister, niece, aunt, family member, and loyal friend whose warmth, generosity, humor, and grace made an enduring difference in the lives of everyone who knew her. She had a remarkable ability to make people feel welcomed, valued, and cared for."
The family issued the statement on August 23, 2026 (ET) and revealed that the actress took her last breath in Los Angeles. While the family didn't share what caused Shelly's sudden passing, some reports have alleged that the star passed away after battling a brief illness. However, confirmation of her cause of death is still awaited.
The family has also requested privacy from the media and Shelley Fabares' fans as they navigate this difficult time.
