Why did Savannah Chrisley cut ties with her stepsister, Lindsie? The tension between the siblings had emerged everywhere on the social media.
There has been a long-running feud between Savannah Chrisley and her older half-sister, Lindsie, who has reportedly dropped her maiden surname. The quiet tension between the siblings had evolved into public estrangements. At one end, family estrangements are not uncommon, but many reports note that Savannah ended ties with Lindsie due to years of mistrust, legal issues, and clashing perspectives. For the unversed, the Chrisley family first became famous on a reality show named, Chrisley Knows Best. It had revolved around Savannah and Lindsie's father, Todd Chrisley, and his wife, Julie, and their kids.
For the unversed, Lindsie is Todd's daughter, who also comes from his first marriage. The cracks in the family became evident over time, as even in earlier seasons of the show, Lindsie's relationship with the family appeared strained. Reportedly, she had stepped away from the series by citing personal reasons and of tension in the family. However, Savannah's relationship with Lindsie became so sour that it ended in an open estrangement, and Savannah had to publicly declare that Lindsie is 'no longer family'.
Savannah Chrisley's not even in the distant future, wants to ever in her life reconcile with her half-sister, Lindsie. The conflict between the two came in the public via their interviews, podcast and reality show, Chrisley Knows Best. For the unversed, the turning point in the sisters' lives came when Todd and Julie found themselves in a high-profile legal mess. It was in 2022 when both of them were convicted of federal fraud and tax evasion charges. The legal proceedings put a lot of emotional pressure on the family, as everything was out in the public. Savannah was outspoken in talking about Lindsie and saying, "We’re no longer family. Lose our last name."
After Todd and Julie were pardoned on the tax evasion cri**s by President, Donald Trump, Savannah had once revealed in The Chrisleys: Back to Reality when Lindsie had written a letter to the FBI and revealed of cooperating with them. She had denied acting maliciously, but reportedly, she was accused of betraying the family. Savannah had revealed that the betrayal given by Lindsie was one of the darkest chapters, and she said in an interview with PEOPLE that she was fed up with Lindsie's victim card role. In her words:
"I don't do well with constant lies and victim mentality, so I'm good. I have realised that as an adult, it's my responsibility to have healthy relationships and cut out unhealthy ones. And especially now with the two kids, it's my job to protect them emotionally, physically, psychologically and I just don't have room for people that don't want to show up and show up in a healthy manner. We have experienced so much loss and not having mom and dad home, we've created our own little safe place, and we are what each other turns to."
For Savannah Chrisley, her loyalty towards her parents was something that was totally non-negotiable. She always stood by them and advocated for her family. On the other side, Lindsie had earlier confirmed in an interview with E! News that there was no hate from her side amid her estrangement from Savannah and her full family. Lindsie and Savannah's public beef did not end for a long time, and in the interview, Lindsie had once slammed Savannah for not sorting out things with her. In the words of Lindsie:
“My sister has never privately reached out to me to discuss her apparent issues with me and has publicly said several times that we have no relationship at all. It's nothing.”
Lindsie had also expressed her frustration as Savannah was constantly bringing her name in public discussions and conversations. Lindsie revealed that she will never understand being a mom to Jackson with her ex, Will Campbell. However, Lindsie had also revealed that she hoped Savannah got what she wanted by doing all this. Lindsie has steered clear of associating herself with her family, and in an interview with The Southern Tea, she explained why she distanced herself from the legacy and name of her family. She noted that her association with the Chrisley family put her under more burden than giving her benefits. Despite the public perception that her surname, Chrisley, opened doors for her, Lindsie said it was the opposite. In her words:
"For a long time, I very much battled with carrying my maiden last name. It became very problematic with me being associated in any capacity, in business, and has been problematic for projects that I have done post-Chrisley Knows Best."
