A few months after the split was confirmed in 2024, Sara addressed the separation during an interview on the Let’s Be Honest podcast. Sara claimed that she and Tommy grew apart over the years of their romance. Sara recalled a moment when she once saw Tommy and felt like he did not respect her anymore.
Foster said it was similar to a situation in which an individual can read another person's thoughts when they look into each other’s eyes. However, Sara did not comment on anything negative about Tommy, as she said:
“This guy has got so much integrity, you will never meet anyone that has a bad thing to say about him. He has real integrity. He’s not a social climber. Not a user. He likes who he likes, doesn’t care who you are. He’s a great guy.”
During her conversation on the Let’s Be Honest podcast, Sara Foster said that the separation was not easy because they could not inform their children directly about it. She stated that she and Tommy Haas did not get an opportunity to discuss how they were planning to live until one day they realised that things should not stay like that at all. She further stated:
“Our kids don’t look at us with those eyes of, ‘This is what I hope to have one day.’ And that is not good. It’s not good when your kids are looking at other people’s relationships going, ‘That’s what I want.’”
In a recent interview on the same podcast, Sara Foster clarified that she is not dating anyone. She opened up about how she and Tommy have been living together despite the split, including that they have breakfast and dinner with their children every day. Sara also revealed that Tommy remains busy due to his career as a retired tennis player.
