Sanchita Ugale's co-star, Ujwal Sharma rubbished their linkup reports and revealed that the actress was seeking help for mental health.
The untimely death of popular actress of the telly world, Sanchita Ugale, brought immense shock to her fans and loved ones. The actress was found hanging at her residence in Nalasopara, Maharashtra, on the evening of June 14, 2026. Authorities have registered an Accidental Death Report (ADR) and are investigating the incident. Soon after the news of Sanchita’s death surfaced, her name was linked with her co-actor, Ujwal Sharma.
Ujwal Sharma played the male lead opposite Sanchita in one of her previous shows, Saajan Ghar. After Sanchita’s death, many reports claimed that she and Ujwal were in a relationship. However, Ujwal rubbished the reports and denied dating the actress. In an interview with Telly Chakkar, Ujwal also stated that Sanchita was dating someone, as he shared:
“There is no truth to the link-up rumours. We were not in a relationship. In fact, she was dating somebody else and was apparently living with that person. I haven't spoken to her in a long time; around two to two-and-a-half months.”
In the same interview, Ujwal gave a shocking update about Sanchita’s personal life as he stated that the actress was seeking help for mental health. Highlighting how she was going through a difficult phase, he shared:
“She was going through a difficult phase because of her ex-boyfriend, and she was seeking help as well. The production house had also helped her access treatment and support for her mental health. Whatever has happened is extremely unfortunate and shocking. I came to know about it only a short while ago.”
Sanchita was staying with her parents and sister in the Nalasopara area of Mumbai. The authorities have confirmed that the case appeared to be a suicide, and the actress had allegedly hanged herself with her own saree. Though no suicide note has been discovered, Sanchita’s fans claim that the actress was so full of life to take such a big step of suicide.
A year before her death, in an interview with The Times of India, Sanchita revealed that she initially struggled to get into the industry, and that people often asked about her social media presence during her auditions. The actress spoke about her personal life, noting that her long working hours kept her away from her family.
Sanchita revealed that she was 17 to 18 hours out for work, with very little time for her personal endeavours. She felt disconnected from her family and friends. But the actress revealed that she had no regrets, as she had chosen the field and was happy with the love and attention from her fans.
Sanchita Ugale gained recognition with shows like Sajan Ghar and Dilwali Dulha Le Jayegi. She rose to prominence as ‘Diya Tandon’ in the popular Zee TV show Kumkum Bhagya. In March 2024, she was all set to play the lead role in a serial, Deewani; however, she was later replaced, which left her heartbroken. Sharing details about the same, Sanchita told TOI that she was selected for the lead role but was replaced just before the shoot. The incident left her in tears, and she couldn’t come to terms with it for some time.
We extend our heartfelt condolences to Sanchita Ugale’s family.
