For the unversed, it was in 2021 when Samantha was planning to have a child with her ex-husband, Naga Chaitanya. However, destiny had some other plans, as the duo got divorced instead in the same year. Naga Chaitanya is married to Sobhita Dhulipala now. And amid Samantha's pregnancy, a not-so-old comment of Naga Chaitanya's father, Nagarjuna Akkineni, surfaced on social media. So, is Chaitnya expecting too? Let's have a look at what happened!
It was back in December 2025, when speculations were rife that Naga Chaitanya and Sobhita Dhulipala were expecting their first child together. Several sources started mentioning that Sobhita was pregnant, a claim, that was never officially confirmed either by Chaitanya or by Sobhita. It was in May of the same year that Sobhita, during an event, wore a loose-fitting silhouette, which led people to believe the intention was to hide her baby bump. In a word, speculations have been continuously growing. However, a family source back then claimed that she wore anti-fit, not maternity clothes and thus, these speculations were baseless.
Well, it was Nagarjuna Akkineni's comment from December 2025 that left people wondering if Sobhita and Naga Chaitanya were expecting their first child together. He sat for an interview with Suman TV, wherein he was asked whether his son and daughter-in-law are expecting and whether he is preparing to be a grandfather.
To this, Nagarjuna reportedly remained shocked for a while and laughed awkwardly before attempting to walk away, while not answering the question. When the interviewer persisted, he replied, 'I'll let you know at the right time'. Such a comment left unverified speculation about Sobhita's pregnancy swirling, as it was neither a confirmation nor a denial. To mention, Sobhita's pregnancy has never been officially confirmed.
It was since the last few weeks that speculations were up that Samantha Ruth Prabhu was all set to welcome her first child within six months of her marriage to Raj Nidimoru. While the couple didn't make any official comment about the same, they made a recent appearance when she was seen donning a blue-toned top, and it took people just a couple of seconds to point out her baby bump. Soon after, a source confirmed that Samantha is expecting her first child and she's in her first trimester and will welcome her child at the end of this year. The actress was also asked if she would take a break; however, she said it's just the beginning. Sam hasn't disclosed the same news in a public announcement.
