Throwback to the time when a veteran actress revealed Salman Khan's frustration over Aishwarya Rai's attitude.
Aishwarya Rai and Salman Khan were once the power couple of Bollywood, who were head over heels in love with one another. Their affair started while filming Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s cult film, Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam. However, their affair was short-lived as the actress broke up with Salman.
Veteran actress, Himani Shivpuri has witnessed Salman Khan and Aishwarya Rai’s relationship. When she was working with Aishwarya, Salman was a frequent visitor on the set. Speaking about the same, Himani on Red FM Podcast revealed:
“This was the time when she and Salman were going very strong, so Salman used to come every night and leave in the morning.”
However, Salman was very possessive about Aishwarya, and his regular visits to her set made it obvious. However, when things started to turn sour between them, Salman became frustrated with Aishwarya, and Himani witnessed it.
In the same podcast, Himani Shivpuri revealed that while Salman Khan and Aishwarya Rai were going through a bad phase in their relationship, she witnessed his frustration. When Aishwarya was filming a Rohan Sippy project with Abhishek Bachchan, Salman showed up unexpectedly and expressed his frustration over her attitude. Recalling what Salman said, Himani stated:
“Kya hai? Isko samjhao. Waheeda Rehman ko dekhe. Apne aap ko boht khubsurat samajhti hai. I used to tell him to calm down, to stay quiet."
Salman Khan and Aishwarya Rai ruled the headlines in the 90s when the two were head over heels in love with each other. It was on the sets of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s cult film, Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, when Salman and Aishwarya’s on-screen romance transformed into their off-screen love. In many interviews, Salman openly confessed his love for the former Miss World.
However, after a few years of courtship, Aishwarya and Salman parted ways on an ugly note. In a throwback interview with The Times of India, Aishwarya revealed the reason behind her breakup and bared her heart out. In her words:
“Salman and I broke up last March, but he isn't able to come to terms with it. After we broke up, he would call me and talk rubbish. He also suspected me of having affairs with my co-stars. I was linked up with everyone, from Abhishek Bachchan to Shah Rukh Khan. There were times when Salman got physical with me, luckily without leaving any marks. And I would go to work as if nothing had happened.”
