Recently, her personal life has become a major topic of discussion among fans after she decided to split from her husband, Shawn Trujillo. The news came as a shock for many, as they were together for over two decades. Now, Angie broke her silence on where her relationship currently stands with her estranged husband.
Angie Katsanevas recently sat down for an interview with Page Six. Before getting to her split with Shawn Trujillo, she revealed that there “are some separations” that fans will get to see in Real Housewives of Salt Lake City Season 7. She also said that they will get to “watch it all play out” when the new episodes drop at the end of September 2026.
In the interview, Angie expressed her shock at how many people are interested in her personal life. However, she also understood where they came from, saying:
“I've been amazed at how many people are curious as to what's going on in my personal life. The viewers fall in love with you, and your family, and your story.”
For those unaware, Angie and Shawn tied the knot in 1999. The duo shares a 15-year-old daughter named Elektra. Together, they also co-founded their business, Lunatic Fringe Salons, which can be found in places like Utah, Idaho, and Ohio.
While they separated after 27 years of marriage and are no longer together romantically, Angie shared that she and Shawn will continue to remain present in each other's lives. In her words:
“Shawn and I are business partners, we’re family, we’re husband and wife of 30 years, we’re best friends. Obviously, we are loving parents, and everything we’ve done, we have done together, and we will continue to do everything together moving forward. We talk a lot about the process this season on the show, and what the future looks like for us.”
Angie also opened up about how their teen daughter is handling the split. According to the reality star, “nothing has changed for her.” She confidently said that both she and Shawn are very present, loving parents. Angie added that Elektra feels loved and supported “and very strong and confident in who she is and who her parents are, and that she is surrounded by love.”
Angie Katsanevas and Shawn Trujillo were having trouble in their marriage, something that we previously saw on RHOSLC at the beginning of 2026. As per reports, their fellow co-stars were already aware of the couple's decision to separate. Speaking about their split, a source said:
“They have separated officially months ago but are focused on Elektra and trying to stay civil co-parents. Their business together is a big priority for them as well; that’s what they’re trying to figure out.”
While Angie and Shawn have not commented on what exactly led to their split, their relationship had previously been called into question. When Angie joined The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City in Season 4, rumors spread that Shawn was cheating on his wife. In fact, the rumors claimed that Shawn was cheating on her with other men.
At one point, Angie confronted him about the matter, but Shawn denied the claims and wondered how such speculation about his sexuality would impact their daughter. It is worth mentioning that Angie had acknowledged before how people would often think Shawn is gay.
She said that it only stopped when they realized she was his wife. Now that the couple has separated, many believe that Shawn’s alleged cheating might definitely have something to do with it.
