Does Rashmika Mandanna and Vijay Deverakonda's wedding jewellery cost around Rs. 7 crore? The couple opted for heavy gold-based temple jewellery for their grand wedding.
Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna had their destination wedding at Mementos By ITC Hotels, Udaipur. They had a lavish wedding celebration, and what was widely discussed was the couple's elaborate gold jewellery. Rashmika was the divine bride in an orange-red Anamika Khanna saree, and her bridal look was defined by 11 important gold pieces, each anchored in traditional styles. The couple, from head to toe, donned gold jewellery, and fans were curious about the cost of the pieces. At one end, Rashmika's neck jewellery had formed the visual Seattle.
Rashmika Mandanna wore a Lakshmi choker with Nakshi carving, layered with kasu malas, each with a small Lakshmi coin symbolising prosperity, along with temple harams. Rashmika and Vijay had opted for 22-carat temple gold jewellery etched with South Indian heritage. Every piece screamed of temple architecture and mythological figures created by Shree Jewellers. They had reportedly spent 10 months making these pieces and ensured that Rashmika and Vijay not just looked stunning but also iconic. However, was the cost of Rashmika and Vijay's temple jewellery till 7 crores?
Rashmika Mandanna's bridal jewellery inspiration came from the South Indian architecture and also varied sculptural forms, as reported by The Times of India. The report mentioned that Rashmika's bridal jewellery alone weighed around 1.5 to 2 kilograms, and she had worn 11 traditional ornaments. It was inclusive of vaddanam (waist belt), mangalsutra, jadabilla, varied layered necklaces, basikam (forehead ornament) and the estimated cost of her jewellery ranged between Rs. 4 to Rs. 5 crore. The high valuation of Rashmika's high-end gold jewellery stemmed from its intricate, detailed nakshi-related craftsmanship. Giving a detailed description of Rashmika's costly gold wedding jewellery, jewellers from Shree Jewellers said:
"The layered harams reflect ceremonial traditions passed down through generations. The waist belt references classical bridal iconography, while the hair ornaments honour age-old South Indian customs. The entire journey took 10 months, from laying out the concept to multiple design discussions, customisation, production, trials, refinements, and finally presenting the completed ceremonial looks."
Rashmika, at one end, with her structured Nakshi choker to varied layered harams, jhumkas, Champasaralu and bhashikam, stepped into varied traditions. On the flip side, Vijay Deverakonda had complemented the traditional mythological theme and looked like a royal groom and sovereign king. He had worn decorative bracelets, rings and the total weight of the jewellery reportedly was like more than half a kg. His golden neckwear was all about a sleek snake-type chain, which was layered with varied temple harams. Reportedly, Vijay Deverakonda's temple necklaces weighed around 1.2 to 2 kilograms, and a Shree Jewellers representative said that for Vijay, the inspiration of his wedding jewellery revolved around mythic royalty. There were Elephant motifs that symbolised wisdom and stability, along with tiger motifs that spoke of agility and strength. The jeweller shared:
"Floral patterns softened the narrative, drawing from traditional inlay artistry. The braided textures were meant to suggest continuity and lineage. Broad cuffs, sculptural bajubands, a statement waist belt, earrings and even an anklet elevated his look beyond the conventional groom aesthetic. Like Rashmika, he too wore a ceremonial bhashikam."
For the unversed, reportedly at the current market rate, 1 kg of gold is valued at around Rs. 75 to Rs. 80 lakh, but when it comes to designer bridal jewellery, the price is high-end. Hence, based on all estimates, Rashmika's wedding jewellery could be around the range of Rs. 3 to Rs. 5 crore if taking into account the designer value of the same. Vijay's jewellery is estimated to be around Rs. 1 to Rs. 2 crore.
Vijay and Rashmika first worked together in the romantic movie, Geetha Govindam, 2018. In one of his interviews with the NDTV, Vijay recollected how he is fine sitting in a pelli mandapam (wedding altar), but there is a shot where he has to tie the mangalsutra. The actor had got scared back then because it seemed to him like a proper wedding, and he felt very weird about it. Vijay had shared:
"It scared me a lot. Even though I knew it was just a shoot, the girl (Rashmika) is sitting there in a pattu cheera (silk saree), and I am there in a pattu pancha (traditional dhoti). It all looked like a proper wedding, with flowers and everything. They asked me to tie all three knots in the shot. I was like, what is even happening? I was telling the heroine, this is really weird. This was the third time she had gotten married on screen, and she wasn't worried."
