For the unversed, Rashmika was engaged to Rakshit Shetty for one year, before they called it quits. The reason for the same was never known. However, recently, after Rashmika's wedding, a viral audio clip made rounds on social media, which allegedly featured some statement that held the reason for Rashmika's break-up with Rakshit.

As per the discussion in the clip, Rashmika's relationship with her former partner faced some difficulties as her career started to grow rapidly after her movie, Geetha Govindam. Rashmika's mom allegedly called the breakup a 'positive result', while in the audio, it was also revealed that there were several attempts that were made to make the actress stay away from the glamour world. Earlier, a report by India Today revealed that Rashmika's mom, Suman, was utterly disturbed by Rashmika and Raskhit's broken engagement, and she allegedly said that they had been trying to recover from the situation. She also mentioned that life comes first, and everybody should be happy. Suman Mandanna could be quoted as saying:
"We are disturbed and on the path to recovery. For every individual, his life comes first. Nobody likes to hurt each other and everybody should be happy.”

After dating for a while, Rashmika and Rakshit decided to get engaged. Rashmika was just 21 years old, while Rakshit was 34 years old. However, the couple got engaged. A year later, it was reported that the couple had decided to call off their wedding, and the reason was said to be irreconcilable differences and compatibility issues.
