Rakshit Shetty issued a clarification regarding Rashmika Mandanna's role in his social detox following their broken engagement.
Rashmika Mandanna is officially a married woman! She is currently in a celebratory mood since tying the knot and vowing a lifelong partnership with Vijay Deverakonda on February 26, 2026. The couple married at a picturesque venue in Udaipur, surrounded by their close friends and family. As Rashmika's love finds fulfilment, public interest has shifted back to her former fiancé, Kannada actor-filmmaker, Rakshit Shetty. For the unversed, Rakshit and Rashmika's engagement was called off within a year and following that, he spoke up on the hate towards them, particularly Rashmika.
Rashmika Mandanna and Rakshit Shetty mutually broke their engagement in September 2018, primarily citing compatibility issues and a shift in career priorities. Following her debut in Kirik Party, Rashmika began receiving numerous high-profile film offers across different industries. Reports suggest she wanted to focus on her flourishing career, while Rakshit may have had different expectations regarding their future and marriage. Rashmika's mother, Suman Mandanna, confirmed that the decision was a family matter and was taken after consulting elders to ensure both individuals could live their lives without pain or disruption to their work.
Despite the breakup, both actors have maintained a cordial relationship. However, Rashmika and Rakshit's relationship faced intense public scrutiny and trolling, prompting Rakshit to temporarily step back from social media. At that time, the public blamed her for his social detox and called her selfish for choosing her career over the man she loved. However, Rakshit soon clarified the speculations himself.
Rakshit Shetty clarified that he took a break from social media primarily to improve his work productivity and to focus on his films without the distractions of "addictive" platforms. “To Respected People! I had announced that I will be off social media to concentrate on other things. But I had to come back in order to clarify a few things, for what has been playing it from the last couple of days has been literally snatching away everything a person loved and lived for!”
Rakshit urged fans to stop forming negative opinions, noting that the public perception was skewed by how the situation was being projected. The 777 Charlie actor defended his ex-fiancée, Rashmika's character, stating that after knowing her for over two years, he understood and accepted the factors that led to their split, however, the public couldn't understand it. He mentioned:
“You all have formed opinions about Rashmika. I don’t blame any of you because that’s how it is projected. Everyone of us believe what we see and what is said. But it need not be true...I have known Rashmika for more than two years and I have known her better than any of you. There are many factors which are acting here. Please stop judging her. Please let her be in peace."
Rakshit Shetty cautioned the public against believing media reports, as none had first-hand information from either him or Rashmika. He requested that the public grant Pushpa actress space to address the situation privately. The 42-year-old handled the online scrutiny with calm and maturity, stating that assuming things before confirmation from the concerned individuals did not do anyone any good. Rakshit said:
"I hope everything comes to a conclusion soon and you all will know the reality. Please don’t go by any media news. None of them have first hand information from me or Rashmika herself. Many are creating their own news for their requirement. Assumptions are not reality.”
