Ram Kapoor and his wife, Gautami Kapoor, have been happily married for 22 years. The couple had met on the sets of the famous serial, Ghar Ek Mandir, where she played the role of his sister-in-law. Gautami was once upon a time a famous actress on the TV. It was in 2015 when she had taken a break to focus on her kids, Sia and Aks. However, did Gautami fight with Ram a lot after marrying him, since he was an established actor working while she was sitting at home?
Ram and Gautami Kapoor had great on-screen and off-screen chemistry. The couple did stay together for 1.5 to 2 years before getting married, back at a time when live-in relationships were not accepted. The actress, in a recent interview with Siddharth Kanan, revealed that after her marriage, she had many disagreements with him. She wanted to work because she was starting to feel impatient sitting at home. Gautami confessed to abu**ng Ram because he used to work while she was at home, and it bothered her. In her words:
"It does not matter to you but it matters to me because I am at home. He was like wait, wait. I think I have abu**d him. I have ki**ed him. I have lectured him. Mujhe acha nai lag raha yeh kehte huei ki he has been proven correct."
Gautami Kapoor reveals that she fought with Ram Kapoor because she wanted to work after marriage. The actress revealed of having many discussions and disagreements. She was adamant about working, while Ram told her to focus on the quality of her work and made her realise the importance of working with people. Gautami used to dislike the fact that Ram used to go to work while she was not for some time.
Gautami had made a comeback back in 2020 with the web series named, Special Ops. She was also seen in hit Hindi movies such as Kuch Naa Kaho (2003), Fanaa (2006) and Satyameva Jayate (2021). She always had a passion for work. The actress, once sat down for an interview with ETimes, and shared of how she bounced back to work when her kids grew up. She spoke about being focused on her career and said:
"I believe it is my time to work now and I am back to it. I am going to kill it. I have told Ram that he can retire now while I will work (laughs). I am in a good headspace work-wise."
Gautami, in the interview, also shared that she was not satisfied with the kind of content coming her way in the TV domain. She revealed getting calls for shows, but it is not the kind of work she would like to do in that medium. The actress shared that when she asked the makers about the role, they used to say it was for a hero's mom or bhabhi. The actress shared that the makers did not understand her question, as she feels characters other than leads are not given importance on television.
