Add BollywoodShaadis on GoogleRahul Roy became an overnight star with his 1990 movie, Aashiqui, whose songs are still crooned today. It was in April 2020 that the actor suffered a brain stroke while he was shooting in Kargil. Life was not easy for the actor, and recently he started taking 8 medicines daily after food.
For Rahul Roy, his life after having a brain stroke was not at all easy. The actor recently sat down for an interview with the Free Press Journal and revealed details about his new project.
He is playing the role of a don and shared that when Karanvir Bohra and Madhavi approached him about it, he was excited. Rahul Roy was only apprehensive, as he has developed issues with his speech after the stroke. He shared how he has to gulp down 8 medicines daily post the stroke. In his words:
"The only thing I was sceptical about was my speech problem because of the brain stroke which I had in 2020 when I was shooting in Kargil. But Karanvir was supportive throughout. After my brain stroke, I didn't even know if I would be able to walk or talk again. I used to be a heavy smoker and a non-vegetarian, but I've turned vegan, and am off onion, garlic and milk and am basically having Jain food. Every day after breakfast, I have 8 medicines. But things are much better now than before."
Rahul Roy in the supernatural movie, Junoon, which was inspired by An American Werewolf, received a lot of appreciation. He was also seen in London in 1981, where the actor played a tiger. Rahul had his downfall as he fell for badly written scripts, and his films were unsuccessful at the box office. He was also seen returning to Bigg Boss in 2006, but the actor did not find success.
Speaking about the trolling incident, Rahul shared that it was all new to him. He didn't know what was happening, as it was his sister, Hari Ma, who drafted that response for him. She had helped him put it on social media and stated:
"Roy’s story is an important one, as he has seen both the dizzying heights of stardom and watched it all disappear. His health problem makes it difficult at times to communicate, as you will see in the video, but he's made tremendous progress. We wish Roy success in his future endeavours, and maybe, someday, he would return as India's scariest tiger, with his fellow brother and sister big cats holding up placards for him in all the wildlife parks and jungles, cheering for him."
For those who do not know, Rahul slammed trolls in April 2026 who mocked his dance with a less-famous content creator. He shared a powerful statement on social media and spoke about his financial conditions.
Rahul slammed those who mocked his simple nature and opened his heart about the struggles he was facing. In the powerful post, he shared that he does his work with honesty and modesty. In his words:
"I have some legal matters to pay for, and these are not from today; they are from before the brain stroke happened. If you mock my simplicity or make fun of my struggles, it says less about me and more about you. If you are truly concerned, then help me find some genuine, decent work so I can pay for these cases. At least I am earning through hard work, not by mocking others."
Rahul was made fun of in the so-called cringe video where he was seen dancing to songs such as Aashiqui and Phir Teri Kahani Yaad Aayee. The clips received a lot of reactions from his fans, with users expressing concerns about Rahul's financial condition.
