Prateek Yadav was the younger son of Mulayam Singh Yadav and the stepbrother of Akhilesh Yadav. It was on May 13, 2026, that a 38-year-old Prateek died due to lung illness. He had a sudden cardiac arrest. The family is going through a tough time. A while back, Prateek's ashes were immersed in the Ganga. What was heartbreaking was the card made by his daughter, which was immersed in the Ganges, in remembrance of her dad. Prateek's wife, Aparna, also cried a river.
Heartbreaking visuals of Prateek Yadav's ashes being immersed in the Ganga have surfaced on social media. What is more saddening is the card made by his daughter. It had 'I love you papa' written on it with a heart emoji. Prateek's little daughter broke down in tears as the ashes immersion of her father took place. A family member was seen consoling the young child who let the card float in the river along with her dad's ashes being immersed.
The video of Prateek Yadav's daughter sitting with a card made for her late father will move you to tears. A user seeing the video wrote, "Very sad. Stay strong for your mother. Very, very sad to see the little angel crying. Completely heartbroken, she comes with a drawing for her father's immersion. Prateek Yadav's wife, Aparna Yadav, cried a river when her late husband's asthi visarjan took place. She was seen wearing a green coloured saree with a veil on her head. Aparna was present with her children and mustered all the courage to keep herself strong. A report by Bhaskar.com revealed that Aparna and her family had arrived from a chartered plane from Lucknow to Haridwar. Prateek and Aparna were married for more than 14 years and were blessed with two daughters. In the middle, he had suddenly announced his separation from Aparna and had blamed her for making his life hell. However, within ten weeks, they had reconciled, and Prateek had shared a snap saying. "All is good".
A report by India Today revealed that Prateek Yadav's postmortem report revealed that his cause of death was cardiorespiratory collapse due to massive pulmonary thromboembolism. In this particular condition as per the report, a large blood clot blocks the arteries located in the lungs and due to his sudden heart and lung failure takes place. The report also revealed that, according to the family of Prateek, he was at home three to four days before his demise. It was in the first week of May 2026 that he had to undergo surgery in his left leg, after which he had a lot of issues while walking and also had swelling in his leg. It was on April 30, 2026, when he got admitted to a hospital, and remained under strict observation and treatment. Prateek was discharged when his condition improved.
Prateek Yadav's health condition had worsened on the day of his demise and he was immediately taken to Civil Hospital. It was at 5.00 a.m. when a domestic worker found him unconscious in his room. The domestic worker had said that Prateek had asked for water, which he was given. When an Emergency Medical Officer was sent to his home, the doctor revealed that Prateek did not respond.
