Further, another anonymous person, who has reportedly worked with Ariana Grande before, revealed that in her personal life, the singer can be very needy in her relationship. The former co-star explained, "As a professional, Ari’s good to work with, she’s so talented. As a human, she can be…needy." Another source spoke about the allegations around Ariana and Ethan on cheating on their respective partners. The source mentioned, "There was no cheating…neither of them should have been branded cheaters, that’s not who either of them are."

While the actor and comedian did not say anything directly, it was a close friend of Pete, who revealed that he is 'very protective' of Ariana and 'respects' her, despite their alleged broken engagement. The friend stated:

It is worth noting that the two met on the sets of their movie, Wicked, and gradually fell in love with each other. On June 11, 2026, Ethan Slater made his first appearance after the breakup news came out. He stepped out for Shakespeare in the Park's Romeo & Juliet in Central Park. He opted for a casual white t-shirt with black jeans. Amid that, a source close to them revealed that there are high chances Ariana and Ethan might get back together. The source shared:
"There's still a deep connection between them. Don't be surprised if they're together again before summer is over. Ethan is still very much in love. If Ariana leaves the door open even a crack, he'll walk right through it."
For the unversed, Ariana and Pete began dating in 2018, after meeting in 2016. Later, they made a few public appearances, proudly flaunting their relationship. In June 2018, reports claimed that Ariana and Pete got engaged. A source, at that time, shared, "Pete called me at the end of May and said, 'Look, I'm getting a ring. This is what I want.' And I told him that I had the right ring for him." Later, by the end of 2018, sources confirmed that they had broken up.
