Perez Hilton was taken to the hospital on August 4, 2026, after cops were called. According to a Miami-Dade County Sheriff's Office incident report obtained by TMZ, Perez was treated for an overdose following an alarming TikTok live stream. As per the police report, Perez’s sister, Barbara Lavandeira, noticed that the influencer was very quiet and behaved unusually. He had locked himself inside his bedroom.

This action was not normal for Perez, and thus, Barbara sensed something might be wrong. So, she asked Perez if he was okay. After some time, when Perez unlocked the door, Barbara was shocked to see Perez naked and covered in a pool of blood. Barbara told cops that she then rushed to take Perez’s children out of the home, and they got into her vehicle.

While they were in the car, Perez walked out naked and bloody and started banging on the driver's window. She said she drove away once she saw police arrive. Barbara added that previously Perez received treatment and had been dealing with depression, anxiety, and overwhelming thoughts following his hospitalization for sepsis earlier this year, in 2026.

Perez received treatment for several days and later doctors allowed him to leave. Initially, the influencer seemed to be doing better. He spent time with his family, attended therapy and used techniques he had learned during treatment to manage his emotions. In fact, on August 3, 2026, he attended his regular therapy session. On August 4, 2026, he completed a call to join an intensive outpatient treatment program and was expected to start group therapy the following week.

Back in March 2026, Perez was hospitalized for several weeks because of an ulcer and sepsis, a serious condition caused by the body's response to infection. He reportedly underwent abdominal surgery and had fluid removed from around his lungs. Explaining Perez’s health condition, Barbara said:

"He was hospitalized for close to a month. Doctors initially didn’t know what was wrong. His body became septic, he coded, and he nearly died several times. He underwent abdominal surgery, had fluid drained from around his lungs twice and then had to recover from surgery and begin physical therapy."
