Denise Richards and Patrick Muldoon were one of the 'IT' couples of Hollywood in the '90s. The duo met on the sets of Starship Troopers back in 1997, and one year later, in 1998, they started dating. It was by 2000, when Patrick and Denise parted ways for the reason best known to them.
Even though the couple broke up, they continued to be really good friends, even though she halted their friendship in between after her marriage to Charlie Sheen, with whom she was married from 2002 to 2006 and welcomed two daughters, Sam and Lola. It was in April 2026, when it was revealed that Patrick Muldoon had passed away from a sudden heart attack, and it surely has taken a toll on Denise. A source recently revealed that Denise is in a condition after she was given the news about her ex-beau and longtime friend, Patrick's sudden passing.
A source close to Denise Richards recently revealed to the Daily Mail that she is devastated. As per the source, it's really sad to see Denise in this state, and she is inconsolable. The source shared that Denise is not able to stop crying.
According to the source, Patrick was the best relationship that Denise had in her life, and there has been tons of respect between them. The source went on to add that the couple was better off as friends than lovers, and throughout the years, they have been each other's biggest supporters. The source revealed:
"She's devastated. Really, really sad. I'd even call her inconsolable. She can't stop crying. Patrick is the ex that she had the best relationship with. There was a ton of respect on both sides. It was so amicable that they were better friends than lovers and they remained in constant contact. She was his biggest supporter, he was hers."
Denise Richards's daughter, Lola Sheen took to her social media and paid tribute to her mom, Denise Richards's ex, Patrick Muldoon. She penned an emotional note as Patrick passed away suddenly, and it left a scar in her heart as well, given the kind of bonding she had with him. She shared that she would remember him in every way possible, be it with the Lola song that Patrick and Denise sang to her when they were on a trip. Lola further mentioned that whenever she thinks of her mom, she thinks of the late actor.
As per Lola, Patrick and Denise came as a package, and she always begged her mom to get back together with him, but they wanted to stay as best friends. She expressed her gratitude to have known Patrick so close and for being a best friend to her mom, by making her forget about the struggles that she had to go through, just by being there by her side and making her laugh. Lola's caption was filled with emotion in every corner, wherein she added that she will miss Patrick, although she knows her mom would do this more and mentioned that they would never stop talking about him.
