Shahid Kapoor and Triptii Dimri's action thriller film, O'Romeo, directed by Vishal Bhardwaj hit the theatres on February 13, 2026. Ever since its release, the film has been generating a lot of buzz. For those who do not know, O'Romeo is the fourth collaboration between Shahid and Vishal. Amid the buzz, read on to know when and where the film will release on OTT.
The recently released film, O'Romeo explores the story of 'Ustara' (played by Shahid Kapoor) and 'Afshan' (played by Triptii Dimri). For the unversed, the film is based on the book, Mafia Queens of Mumbai. The plot of the film revolves around 'Afshan', who wants to take revenge of her husband from 'Jalal'. 'Ustara' helps her in the same. Apart from the lead, the film also stars Nana Patekar, Avinash Tiwary, Rahul Deshpande, Tamannahh Bhatia, Disha Patani and more.
According to a recent report by OTTPlay, the streaming rights of the film, O'Romeo have been acquired by the OTT giant, Amazon Prime Video. While the exact dates have not been revealed, the film will probably premiere somewhere between late March and early April 2026. However, it is worth mentioning that cinephiles will have to wait to know the confirmed information regarding the OTT release.
According to a report by Abp News, O'Romeo was made on a massive budget of Rs. 150 crore. For those who do not know, the action thriller has a runtime of around 178 minutes. Before the release of the film, the CBFC had asked the makers to trim a few violent scenes and change some words. It is also worth noting that O'Romeo earned approximately Rs. 8.25 crore on day 1.
Talking about the cast fees of O'Romeo, according to an earlier report by Asianet News, Shahid Kapoor took home a massive paycheque of Rs. 45 crore. On the other hand, Triptii Dimri charged Rs. 6 crore. On the other hand, Tamannaah Bhatia was paid Rs. 7 crore for her role as 'Rabia’ and Disha Patani took home Rs. 2 crore.
Soon after the film, O’Romeo was released in theatres, cinephiles took to their X (formerly Twitter) handles and shared their reviews of the action thriller. Appreciating the film, one user commented, "#ORomeo is a superb film #ShahidKapoor is too good. Aruna Irani and Farida Jalal, wow. Tripti steals the show. Must watch." On February 13, 2026, soon after the release, Triptii Dimri took to her Instagram handle and penned a long note to express her feeling for the character, ‘Afshan’. In her long note, she revealed that her role demanded honesty from her and it also pushed her out of her comfort zone. Further, she appreciated her co-stars, Shahid Kapoor, Avinash Tiwary and Vikrant Massey. A part of her note can be read as:
"Afshan isn’t just a character, she’s fire and fragility in the same breath. She feels deeply, loves fiercely and fights with everything she has. This role challenged me, demanded honesty & pushed me beyond my comfort zone for which I’ll always be grateful…."
