Neena mentioned that even for a film shoot, she had to think about who would take care of Masaba. Neena Gupta was quoted as saying:
"It takes a lot of courage and you have to face a lot of problems. For example, to raise a child alone.. I am an actor, so I have to work physically. (I have to think about) where will I keep the child? Who will I hand over the child to? I didn't even get time to go to the parlour. It is a very tough decision to take."
Further, Neena Gupta revealed the real reason she has always advised younger people to not do what she did. She stated that some fans follow the paths of their favourite actors, but she does not want that. She also highlighted the amount of efforts and sacrifices one will have to make in such a situation. In her words:
"In fact, I always said in my interviews at that time, please don't do it because Neena Gupta has done it. And that's because her circumstance were different. My father came and lived with me. He took care of my house. Aapka shayad support system na ho aisa. It is a very tough decision. You will have to make a lot of sacrifices much more than a normal mother does. So, I always used to say that."
