Did Nancy Guthrie's kidnapper have some personal grievance against the 84-year-old lady? Understanding the behaviour of the suspect through expert opinions.
Today show host, Savannah Guthrie's mom, Nancy Guthrie, has been missing from her Arizona house since January 31, 2026. It has been three weeks since 84-year-old Nancy Guthrie has been missing, and investigators, detectives associated with the FBI, are trying their best to find out about the kidnappers linked to the Nancy case. Well, law enforcement agencies have not yet named any suspects, despite releasing photos of a man seen on surveillance footage outside Guthrie's house. He was seen wearing a mask, gloves, and a backpack.
For those who do not know about the Nancy Guthrie case, she was last spotted in Tucson, Arizona house at 9.45 p.m. by one of her family members. The Pima County Sheriff's Department has been working with the FBI and also the national agencies. Authorities have confirmed that Nancy was kidnapped, taken against her will. The door camera clip from Nancy's house showed the potential suspect to have an average build, standing around 5 feet 9 inches tall. Now, the lates theory that has come out is that was Nancy Guthrie abducted as the kidnapper had some personal grievance against her?
Now, a new report by the Fox News has come out where a former FBI agent has tried to understand the behaviour of Nancy Guthrie's kidnapper. The FBI agent has tried to remove a theory and wants the investigators working on the case to understand the newest angle in relation to the eerie and mysterious disappearance of Nancy Guthrie. Well, former FBI agent, Jonny Grusing who has earlier worked in the FBI's Denver Division that also for 25 years hasd investigated violent cri**s, casdes of mission persons, serial ki**ers and also more. He had also been the author of The Devil I Knew: Unmasking a Serial Ki**er which has been about the true cri** case that also of Scott Kimball.
Former FBI agent Jonny Grusing has made it clear that he is speaking only about the information that has been made public in Nancy Guthrie's missing case. He revealed in an interview with Fox News that the suspect's first act was to put on his gloves. Jonny revealed that it did not look like he was trying to take [the camera] off. Speaking on the behaviour of the suspect, Jonny revealed that it looks like he was trying to cover the door camera with his right hand.
For the unversed, the FBI authorities and even Savannah Guthrie released snaps of a masked man who was caught on the clip located by a security camera outside the home of Nancy Guthrie, the day she went missing. Former FBI agent Jonny Grusing further revealed his theory related to the Nancy case, shared that there is a possibility that the potential suspect deliberately tried to get Nancy to answer the door. In his words:
"And then he looks down, he looks around, and he gets the branches, and he puts the branches up in front of it. Is there a chance, since we don't have audio, that he is either knocking on the door loudly or that he has pressed the ring doorbell, [that] he's trying to get Nancy to answer the door, and he's shielding himself from being seen as a masked person, so she will, in her confusion, open the door?"
Jonny Grusing, in his theory, further revealed that the suspect was not there to rob the house of Nancy Guthrie. Since she stayed in a sprawling residential area, Gruising believes it is very unlikely that the suspect is a robber who happened to show up at the address. However, Jonny made a strong point and revealed that the suspect involved in kidnapping Nancy Guthrie may have been there, as he may have had some personal grievance against the old lady. Hence, he may have lured her out of her home near her porch.
Jonny Grusing, in his theory, alleged that the g** is supposed to be a cheap Walmart holster, reportedly. Jonny did not find the g** wore on the front part of his body as tactically sound as the g**man would have had trouble firing with the gloves that he donned. The g** may just have been a prop used to instil fear in the eyes of Nancy Guthrie. Jonny emphasised that maybe the kidnapper wanted her to confront something and said:
"So, if the g**s a prop, if he's shielding himself from being seen, if he's actually ringing the doorbell or knocking on the door, getting her to come, he wants to confront her about something in my opinion."
