It was reported that Nana Patekar was found unresponsive in his Goa residence, after which he was rushed to a private hospital.
Nana Patekar's career spanned more than 40 years in Bollywood, and he was one of the most prominent actors in the Hindi and Marathi film industries. Amid his passing, Nana's last post surfaced on social media. The actor was also last publicly spotted four days ago. It was also reported that Nana Patekar texted his friend three hours before his sudden passing. It was on October 4, 2026, that Nana Patekar attended the Samraat Club International installation ceremony in Dona Paula.
Now, videos from the same event are making the rounds on social media. During the event, the actor spoke about former Goa chief minister Manohar Parrikar and the little time people are given. Nana Patekar's sudden passing after four days has now added an emotional weight to his statement. An excerpt from his speech could be read as:
“We all have to go someday. I don't know whether I will be here tomorrow or not. Every person's life will eventually reach that point. But before that happens, I have to ask myself: am I able to do what I want to do?”
Nana Patekar's passing was unexpected. He was last seen in the movie O'Romeo and was expected to appear in a horror-comedy alongside Avneet Kaur, where he played the role of a spiritual guide or Baba. Another upcoming project of the actor is Eetha, starring Shraddha Kapoor and Randeep Hooda, which is scheduled to be released in December 2026. Apart from that, the actor was expected to complete dubbing for a project named The Confession of Mary.
Following the confirmation of Nana Patekar's death, Dr Shekhar Salkar, Chief of the Oncology Department at Manipal Hospital, broke his silence on the matter. According to the doctor, it was around 2 a.m. when Nana Patekar texted his friend, saying that he was not feeling well.
As the friend was not available, the actor even called him. When the friend reached to his home around 4 a.m., the actor was sweating. According to the doctor, Nana Patekar eventually became unconscious, and the actor's caretaker was sent to the hospital to bring the ambulance.
Speaking to ANI, the doctor further revealed that Nana Patekar was brought dead to the hospital around 4:30 a.m., and he was declared dead by 5:30 a.m. The medical team tried their best to save the actor, but according to him, the actor was brought dead. It was revealed that despite their best efforts and performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation for 45 minutes to 1 hour, the actor couldn't be saved.
