Mouni Roy got harassed at a Haryana event. She took to her social media and issued a statement about the same!
Mouni Roy is one of the most famous actresses in the entertainment world. In 2006, Mouni Roy made her debut with Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi. Following this, she went on to establish herself as one of the well-known faces in the industry. The actress got married in 2022 to Suraj Nambiar. Well, recently, Mouni made it to the headlines with something that raised eyebrows about female safety. She recently joined an event in Haryana, and an incident at the event left her utterly disgusted. Mouni came forward and called out the questionable behaviour she had to face, questioning the safety of ordinary people when even celebrities aren't safe.
Taking to her IG handle, Mouni Roy shared a statement, wherein she added that she was recently a part of an event in Haryana. Mouni revealed how disgusted she was with the behaviour of the guests, especially two old men. She said that the family members came on the stage and all the males started touching her waist, which she didn't like and asked them to stop.
Following this, the two older men stood near the stage and made lewd remarks and hand gestures to the actress, and she asked them not to do the same; they even started throwing roses at her. She wanted to leave, but she completed her performance, and still no one took the initiative to let those two men out of the place. The actress expressed her anger over the same, and wondered how the new girls who would come on the stage would even feel.
Mouni Roy also questioned how such behaviours are justified, when these two males didn't stop from clicking videos from a low angle, as the stage was at a higher level. Even when someone asked them to stop such behaviour, these two people even abused the others. The actress questioned where there's safety, where the artists are just using their craft to make it to living. An excerpt from Mouni Roy's statement could be read as:
"Have to also mention that the stage was on a height and these uncles were making videos low angel. When someone asked them to stop they abused em. I love my country our people our traditions but this? The guts. The entitlement of being men. O never put up anything negative i go through. But this. Have no words. Have no expression or abuse that would make any sense for this behaviour. We as actors go to these events to wish the bride and the groom to add to their celebration. We are their guests and they harass us like this. Yuk.”

In 2018, she made her debut alongside Akshay Kumar in the movie, Gold. Apart from that, she was seen in Romeo Akbar Walter and Brahmastra Part One: Shiva.
