This ad starts when the groom is stunned by his bride wearing the new collection from Tanishq, walking towards him with her daughter. In her eyes we see a lot of love and hope of a beautiful future ahead. This compels the viewers to change their perception of considering widowed or divorced women as being ‘second hand’ and ‘good for nothing’. The man's affection towards his step daughter also changes the widely accepted view of a stepfather being nasty and inconsiderate. Not only these, this ad also breaks free the taboo of only fair complexioned women getting preference as it stars a ‘dusky’ model in it. Here is a regular looking woman, who is not fair and not perfectly skinny, and still manages to make her man's heart flutter.

The ad shows that it is now time to show progressiveness in mindsets and liberate socially shunned women from the shackles of conservatism. Here is hoping that our Indian society learns a few lessons from this ad and respects women and their choices of choosing their 'Happily Ever After' just as they want.

We say, kudos to the Tanishq team that put forward a new image of Indian weddings to the world, and which broke quite a few social norms quite subtly and sensibly!
