With 'Kaleen Bhaiya' and 'Guddu' once again positioned at the centre of the conflict, the film promises another chapter in the long-running fight for the gaddi. However, is it just a summary of Mirzapur Season 1? Well, according to reports, the film is a standalone.

According to Ali Fazal, the audience is advised to watch Episodes 1-6 of Season 1 before watching Mirzapur: The Movie. He has claimed that these episodes establish the central characters, the power structure in Mirzapur, 'Guddu's' transformation, 'Kaleen Bhaiya's' empire and the relationships that drive the franchise.
