Although, he has been a popular face in the world of football for a long time, Mikel Oyarzabal has preferred to keep his personal life away from the spotlight. For the unversed, Mikel has been in a relationship with Ainhoa Larrauri for more than ten years since 2015.
Reports have stated that Mikel was playing for Real Sociedad’s B team when his romance with Ainhoa started. However, there are no details available on how and when the pair first met each other. Apart from all these, Ainhoa has also opted to maintain privacy in terms of her career and relationship. Although she is active on Instagram with around 638 followers, the account is set to private.
A few reports have claimed Ainhoa and Mikel have an age gap of only a month since the former was born in May 1997 and Mikel was born in April 1997. They reportedly have the same zodiac sign, which is Taurus. The only time Mikel shared a picture with Ainhoa was in 2015 on the occasion of her birthday. He posted a photo where Ainhoa was spotted kissing him and wrote:

Mikel Oyarzabal appeared for an interview in June 2026, addressing the preparations for the FIFA World Cup. Mikel said that things are getting better for him as he is confident and “gelling better” with the team members. Mikel said that although his fitness problems did not allow him to play at the 2022 World Cup, he is now sharing the experience with the team.
Mikel Oyarzabal also opened up on the possibilities of Spain emerging as a winner this year. He said that the team is confident and ready to enter the field. He further stated:
“We don’t think we’re better than anyone else. We have our feet firmly on the ground, but we believe in ourselves. That’s something the boss always stresses, and I think it was pivotal to how well things went for us at the EURO two years ago. We need to back ourselves, trust those around us, and remember that starters and substitutes alike will give everything for the team.”
