The duo initially released statements and denied being involved in anything that's controversial. To mention, a cheating angle between the duo was being talked about as they both are married to their respective partners.
Amid the conversation going on, Dianna Russini mentioned that she would be stepping down from her position as an NFL reporter and insider from The Athletic. Well, as it seems the conversation isn't stopping just right away, some photos of the duo from 6 years back made rounds on social media. The photos showed Dianna and Mike kissing each other, and undoubtedly, the snaps again drag the duo to the headlines, once again. Amid this going on, Mike Vrabel's recent statement made the rounds.
Mike Vrabel, on Thursday, i.e. on April 23, 2026, before the NFL draft, shared a statement during a press conference. Speaking about the same, Mike Vrabel mentioned that his previous actions don't meet the standards he holds himself to now. He further stated that he takes accountability for his actions that created a distraction for the one family he cares about the most. He said:
"My previous actions don't meet the standard that I hold myself to. I take accountability for my actions and the actions that caused a distraction to the people that I care most about. My family, this football team, the organization and the fans."
Mike also added that he would miss the third day of the draft for a counselling session that he would have to attend. He further stated that his family needs him right now, and his current priorities are his family only. He mentioned that he's going to create a balance between his personal and professional life.
The flame of Dianna Russini and Mike Vrabel's controversy isn't in any way dying. Mike and Dianna were seen getting cosy in an Arizona hotel, which already sparked the speculations. The duo denied being involved in any kind of romantic angle, and just at that moment, some more photos from the past few years made rounds, featuring Dianna and Mike. One photo, which was released by Page Six, was claimed to be from 2020. The photo was allegedly from a bar in New York, and it showed Mike and Dianna sitting closely, and in one snap, the head coach was seen kissing the NFL reporter.
Another photo was from 2024, when Mike Vrabel was fired from the Tennessee Titans. It was days after the same, when Mike and Dianna were spotted at the Beau Rivage Casino in Biloxi, Mississippi, in January 2024. The photo was recently shared by TMZ, who also revealed through an eyewitness that the duo was really comfortable with each other that night, and while there was no PDA between them, they actually were looking delighted while drinking and chatting. The eyewitness snapped the photo, recognising Mike, and thought Dianna was his wife, depending on their body language. Well, it's most recently that, after the controversy broke out, they could identify the lady as Dianna.
