'Off Campus' star, Mika Abdalla and her fiance, Jake Short, have allegedly parted ways, leaving the fans stunned about the sudden development in their relationship.
Off-Campus star, Mika Abdalla and her fiancé, Jake Short, have allegedly decided to call off their engagement. According to reports, the couple has made the decision amid Mika's success with the buzzworthy series Off Campus. The news left the actress's fans heartbroken and wondering what possibly led to their breakup.
According to a report by Us Weekly, a representative for Mika Abdalla confirmed that she and her fiancé, Jake Short, have called it quits. The rep shared the update in light of the recent interest in Mika's life following her success with Off Campus. They shared that the couple was no longer together. However, they continue to hold a place of support and respect in each other's lives. The rep was quoted as saying:
"Due to recent interest in Mika's personal life it would feel remiss to not address that her and Jake are no longer together. They continue to support each other and remain on friendly terms, and kindly ask for privacy and respect."
According to reports, Mika Abdalla and Jake Short first met on the set of Sex Appeal in 2021. In the show, Mika and Jake played on-screen BFFs on a journey to experiment with intimacy. After filming, the duo's real-life bond deepened, and they eventually fell in love. Regarding Mika's real-life age, she is currently 26 years old, according to an interview she gave to The Hollywood Reporter. Reportedly, her birthday is on May 13, the same as her co-star, Antonio Cipriano. Meanwhile, Mika's real-life boyfriend, Jake Short, is 28 years old, according to IMDb. He was born on May 30, 1997. This means the couple did not have a large age gap and are only 2 years apart.
Four years after they met, Jake Short got down on one knee and asked Mika Abdalla to marry him. If the reports are to be believed, Mika and Jake got engaged in 2025. Jake's manager, Brian Medavoy, reportedly confirmed the news with an Instagram post. With Mika's success with the new show, fans were excited to see her flourish in her personal life as well. Nonetheless, they remain supportive of the couple's decision and wish them well in the future. At the time, Brian Medavoy's Instagram post was quoted as:
"An awesome day yesterday celebrating the next chapter for my longtime client, Jake Short and his fiancée, Mika Abdalla. From set to real life – watching your journey has been a joy. Here’s to forever."
While Mika Abdalla's personal plans have changed, it seems like the actress is ready to rule the world with the Prime Video series. Following the highly successful premiere of Off Campus, Mika, who plays 'Allie', revealed that she is focused on filming the show's second season. The season will be based on Elle Kennedy's book, The Score. According to reports, Season 2 will revolve around 'Allie' and 'Dean's' (Stephen Kalyn) love story. It was in May 2026, when Mica spoke with Us and said:
"Even though we do tease Dean and Allie a lot earlier than people expect, you are still left wanting a lot more. And that’s something I’m really excited about. You just want to see more. Allie and Hannah’s story lines are so connected to one another that it just made a lot of sense to touch on that this season. All the books, they build off of each other and they’re all connected. It didn’t really make sense to not include certain elements from the other books in this season."
