Many are wondering how Jones ended up in Trippie Redd’s home in the first place. Now, with the musician in the spotlight, fans have grown curious about his personal life, including his ex-girlfriend, Coi Leray.
According to reports, Coi Leray was born on May 11, 1997, in Boston, Massachusetts, and raised in Hackensack, New Jersey. She is the daughter of rapper and media mogul Raymond Leon Scott, better known as Benzino. Leray has five brothers, including rapper Chavo.
Coi Leray followed in her father’s footsteps and began making music when she was just 14 years old. She started rapping in 2011 and released her first songs, Bow Down with her brother Taj, and Rock Back via YouTube. Despite her love for music, Leray began working in sales after dropping out of high school.
It wasn't until 2018 that Coi Leray decided to quit her job and officially release her debut single G.A.N., which was a response to A Boogie wit da Hoodie’s song DTB. Her breakout single Huddy and debut mixtape Everythingcoz were also released in the same year.
No More Parties, which Coi Leray dropped in January 2021, became her first song to appear on the Billboard Hot 100, peaking at number 26. Since then, she has successfully established herself in the music industry, often collaborating with well-known artists.
Coming to Coi Leray’s relationship with Trippie Redd, the duo were first linked in 2019. At the time, Leray was photographed backstage at Redd’s show at Irving Plaza in New York City in February 2019. The duo began making frequent appearances together in the months that followed, including Leray's performance on HOT 97’s Who’s Next in April 2019.
Redd had described the beginning of their relationship as “love at first sight” in his song Leray. However, their relationship fizzled out pretty quickly, with their last public appearance together being in the summer of 2019.
Trippie Redd essentially wrote Leray after their breakup, where he mentioned that it was “misery after two months.” He even dissed her in one of the verses, rapping, “When you got with me, you were a genius/Now without me you have to live life as an idiot.” Coi Leray addressed the diss in an interview on the No Jumper podcast in August 2020.
Leray said that she didn't mind Redd using their relationship as inspiration for his music. However, she was not a fan of how he put her “down.” She said:
“At first, no, I didn’t like it. It was very like, what the fuck, because I always thought we really had something outside of the music. So I’m just like, damn. If you got something to say, let’s get together, and you say that shit to my face … I felt like I’m being used for clickbait."
Leray added that she always thought she and Trippie Redd were meant for each other, but the timing wasn't right. And it seems like it was true as the pair rekindled their relationship in August 2024. A year later, in June 2025, Leray and Redd announced that they had welcomed their first child together, a daughter named Miyoco. However, they broke up for the second time, with the rapper accusing Trippie Redd of cheating on her.
