Phil Mickelson is a proud father of three kids whom he shares with his wife, Amy Mickelson. Their first child, daughter, Amanda Brynn, was born on June 21, 1999. Amanda completed high school in 2017, following which she went on to study at Brown University. It is worth noting that Phil Mickelson attended her graduation ceremony even though the date clashed with his US Open Championship. His decision to forego his play and attend the ceremony showed the amount of love he has for his oldest daughter. According to Phil, these are the types of moments that are the most important in life, and he really did not want to miss them. He said:
“As you get older and share these moments, you realise the greatest moments in life are those spontaneous moments with your family. And this is one of those moments that I'll cherish forever.”
Phil Mickelson's second child, daughter, Sophia Isabel Mickelson, was born on October 23, 2001. According to social media reports, she is a beautiful young lady in her twenties who prefers to keep herself away from controversies. Unlike her father, she is not much into sports. Evan Samuel Mickelson is Phil and Amy's youngest child and only son. He was born on March 23, 2003. For his schooling, Evan went to Orange Coast College Athletics. About a year after Evan was born, Phil opened up about the circumstances surrounding his son's birth during an interview. He claimed that the birth was not only dangerous for Evan, but also for his wife, Amy. He was quoted as saying:
“Amy had a very dangerous delivery with the birth of Evan. He had a very difficult delivery, too.”
The incident that led to the controversy involving Phil Mickelson and Pat Perez's ex-wife, Ashley, occurred back in 2015 during The Barclays tournament at the Plainfield Country Club in Edison, New Jersey. At the time, Phil, Pat, and Ashley were staying at a luxurious villa. The trio were initially having a fun time drinking, but things took a turn when Phil made unwanted advances towards Ashley. According to Ashley, when her then-husband excused himself to use the restroom, Phil suddenly showed her a bare body image of himself, taken while he was aroused.
As if this was not enough to make Ashley uncomfortable, Phil allegedly proceeded to flex the photo and made her a lewd offer. In her words, “Phil says to me, ‘I’m going to leave my bedroom door open tonight. When Pat falls asleep, I want you to come see me.” When Asley later opened up about the incident to Pat, he never forgave Phil, even though he apologised. It is worth noting that apart from Ashley, an unnamed woman also alleged that Phil had behaved inappropriately towards her. These allegations led Phil to hire a defamation lawyer, Tom Clare.
During an interview with the same website that published Ashley Perez's allegations, Tom defended Phil by saying not all of it was true. He even questioned what the intent was behind all the accusers coming up with past incidents one after the other. He was quoted as saying:
"Some of the allegations circulating about Mr. Mickelson are false, and others revisit mistakes he has already acknowledged, publicly or privately. Stacking the disputed claims next to the ones he has owned does not make them credible. It instead contributes to a false and misleading narrative."
