Pat McAfee and his wife, Samantha Ludy, recently had another child. The news was confirmed by the duo in a joint Instagram post on May 25, 2026. It featured glimpses of the newborn, and the parents also appeared alongside the child in a few snaps. The caption revealed the name of the baby as Midas Robert McAfee and that the baby was delivered through an emergency C-section.
For the unversed, Pat and Samantha have been married since 2020, and they had their first child around three years later in 2023. While the latest update on the newborn is creating headlines, keep reading to know more about Samantha and her relationship with Pat!
Compared to Pat McAfee, Samantha Ludy has pursued a completely different career. Samantha has always loved animals and was also employed at a pet store during her high school days. Moreover, she even served as a volunteer for animal shelters. All of these led to the formation of a nonprofit organisation called Fur The Brand in 2018. The organisation aims to let people know more about canine cancer and offer financial help for treatment.
The idea behind the organisation emerged when Samantha’s dog, Valerie, was battling canine cancer. Samantha’s pet was a pit bull who had two surgeries and suffered from complications of the same. She further stated on the organisation website:
“I quickly learned how much cancer treatments can cost plus the emotional stress of your fur baby being sick. This gave me an idea, to build a foundation that helps relieve the financial burdens of dog cancer treatments while assisting in helping the health of the dog. A win-win: we are able to help the fur baby and the person.”
Samantha Ludy completed her education at Center Grove High School and the University of Southern Indiana. She was born in Greenwood, Indiana, and spent a lot of time with animals during her childhood at her grandfather’s farm. Samantha brought a lot of pets to her house while working at a local pet store and later developed an interest in veterinary science. However, she changed her choice after a few years in college.
Samantha later started working in the bar industry after arriving in Indianapolis. She eventually received her grooming license and became a dog/cat CPR certified. Samantha has continued helping animals over the years. Apart from these, Ludy has even battled anxiety issues. She has addressed the matter on social media frequently. Back in 2021, Ludy wrote in an Instagram post:
“Mental health looks and feels different for everybody & had I never told you, you’d probably never know. I am speaking out in hopes it helps break the stigma. If you are struggling know you are not alone, seek help, if its not you check on your friends/family. Even if its your most outgoing fun friend, check on them.”
Pat McAfee and Samantha Ludy’s relationship reportedly started in 2016. They got engaged in 2019 after Pat proposed to Samantha in Hawaii. The latter even shared the details of the proposal through an Instagram post in 2020. Ludy said that she and McAfee were on vacation and were taking a ride on a helicopter when they landed on a huge waterfall, where Pat asked her to marry him.
The duo exchanged vows in 2020. Although the plan was to tie the knot in Hawaii, they decided to organise the wedding in Indianapolis due to the pandemic. The marriage ceremony was held at Coxhall Gardens. In a post shared through X a day after the wedding, Pat wrote:
“Yesterday was a great day.. My lady & I said “Yup” to forever together in front of a great group of humans. My wife is the best & an absolute rocketship..I’m the luckiest man to ever grace this here planet, I appreciate you all more than you could fathom 4 following along.”
