The shocking incident occurred during the second bend of the 1000-meter trial, when Jutta lost her balance at the Olympic Trials in Heerenveen, Netherlands. After the crash, it is now unclear whether she would qualify to compete in the 2026 Winter Olympics in Italy.

Jake Paul is a professional boxer. Besides being a boxer, Jake is an influencer and actor. He first rose to fame with the Vine app, where he uploaded over-the-top stunts, music and daily-life vlogs. Later, he starred in the film, Bizaardvark and shared screen space with Olivia Rodrigo.
In 2018, Jake made his boxing debut with a white-collar match. He became a star in that field, and in November 2024, he fought and won against the heavyweight icon, Mike Tyson. His recent match against former two-time unified heavyweight boxing champion, Anthony Joshua stole the spotlight.
In 2013, Jake began his social media career and shared content on the Vine platform. By the time the app got shut down, the 28-year-old influencer amassed 5.3 million followers and 2 billion views on it. Next year, in 2014, he launched his YouTube channel and began posting prank videos, music and dares.
Later, Jake shifted his focus to sports and made his debut with a white-collar match against fellow YouTuber, Deji Olatunji. Speaking to Rolling Stone in 2021, Jake shared how he got pulled towards boxing. The professional boxer mentioned that he had always been into sports and is super competitive. Jake highlighted that when he got the opportunity to be part of boxing, he just fell in love with it. He was quoted as saying:
"I’ve always played sports and been competitive my whole entire life — I’m super competitive. When I got the opportunity to box when I was 21, it brought back the old Jake Paul. It brought back the competitive, athletic Jake Paul. I just fell in love with it. When I won my first boxing match, it was one of the best feelings I’ve ever experienced in my life."
Jake Paul and Anthony Joshua’s boxing match was the highly anticipated event of this year. The 28-year-old and 36-year-old Anthony were scheduled to have eight rounds at the Kaseya Centre in Miami on December 19, 2025. However, a hard punch by Anthony knocked down Jake during the sixth round. The match left Jake’s jaw broken into two pieces. Later, Jake updated his fans about his health and shared that he is fine.
The fall during the Olympic Trials came as a shock to the speed skater, Jutta Leerdam. Speaking to Dutch outlet, Schaatsen.nl, the 26-year-old speed skater shared that she felt like standing on something which led to the slide. She called the moment 'frustrating'. Jutta was quoted as saying:
"I don't know if there was anything on the ice, but it felt like I was standing on something. I completely slid. I’ve been riding so well in practice. What those girls are riding here, I could have easily ridden today. This is truly the most frustrating moment for this to happen, because I almost never fall."
Reacting to the devastating fall of Jutta, Jake Paul said to the reporters that it was the former’s whole dream and life. He highlighted that the 26-year-old speed skater worked hard for the trials. Later, he shared a clip on his Instagram Stories and posted a text atop which can be read as, “So proud of you, warrior @juttaleerdam.” Jake was quoted as saying:
"It's really, really hard. And I know this is her whole life. Her whole dream. And everything she's worked so hard for. My heart is broken. This sport is so bizarre. She could just show up at the starting line and go again. And she had such a fast opening."
