Ayanna Chapman was born on February 17, 1999, in Camden, N.J., to parents Lydia and Eddie Chapman. She grew up with her three siblings, Alycia, Kewanee, and Kayla. She attended Salem High School, where she met her now husband, Jonathan. Reportedly, in Salem High School, Ayanna began her amateur career in field hockey. According to a report by Clutchpoints, Ayanna was a key player and helped the high school win 12 matches out of 14. With Ayanna in the team, Salem High School captured the Tri-County Conference championship.
Besides being a phenomenal athlete, Ayanna was a star student. She graduated from high school with a 4.28 grade-point average. After high school, Ayanna went to Ball State University and earned a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science. Once in a YouTube Q&A video, Ayanna shared her love for sports. She was quoted as saying:
"My favourite probably would have to be I like going to the gym. I've always been into fitness. I've always been an athlete in my entire life. My entire family were athletes."
Jonathan and Ayanna first crossed paths at a fall sports banquet at Salem High School. According to a report by Clutchpoints, back then, the NFL legend was just 15 years old. The couple attended the same school, Salem High School. They felt an instant connection and started dating. It was their admiration of sports that brought them closer. On their first date, the couple attended one of the biggest basketball games of the year, Salem Rams versus the Penns Grove Red Devils.
It was on March 8, 2022, that the NFL legend went down on one knee and proposed to his high school sweetheart, Ayanna. A day later, on March 9, 2022, Ayanna took to her Instagram handle and shared some dreamy pictures from their engagement. She wrote, "You always said this was a forever kinda thing." After one year in March 2023, the couple got married. It was an intimate wedding ceremony which was attended by their family members and close friends.
On March 15, 2023, Ayanna shared some beautiful pictures from her intimate wedding and proudly wrote, "Mr. & Mrs. Taylor." On the same day, she posted another set of snaps from her wedding to Jonathan and wrote, "My Happily Ever After." In April 2025, the couple was blessed with a baby girl. Although, the duo is considered to be one of the most admired couples in the NFL world, they have kept their personal life low-key. Ayanna occasionally posts some lovey-dovey posts with her longtime partner, Jonathan Taylor. In one of the posts, she wrote, "You’re the reason that I’m waking up smiling."
