Jaylen Brown is one of the most well-known American professional basketball players. He currently plays for the Boston Celtics of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He was selected by the team as their third overall pick in the 2016 NBA draft. Over the years, he has helped his team reach the Eastern Conference finals six times and has also been named a five-time NBA All-Star.
At present, Jaylen Brown is hogging the spotlight for his fraud with ESPN's Stephen A. Smith. For those unaware, Jaylen called Stephan the “face of clickbait media” and bashed him for telling him to “be quiet.” Well, while his professional life continues to grab attention, let's take a look at his personal life, especially Jaylen's ex-girlfriend, Kysre Gondrezick.
According to a report by People, Kysre Gondrezick grew up in Benton Harbour, Michigan. She reportedly started her career playing college football for West Virginia University and later the University of Michigan. A few years back, Kysre was selected by the Indiana Fever as the fourth overall pick in the 2021 WNBA Draft. After getting drafted in April 2021, Kysre opened up about the same while speaking to Indiana Fever's Pat Boylan, stating that hard work pays off. And even though her journey hasn't been easy, since she had played catch for a long time, “it was kind of like proof to let me know you've finally caught up, and it's time to take off.”
Kysre went on to say that the moment she saw her name being announced on the screen, she felt a sense of relief that all the hardships that she had faced along the way were worth it, and she could “finally breathe.”
If reports are believed to be true, Kysre Gondrezick was born into a family of athletes who have all played basketball. Her father, Grant Gondrezick, had reportedly played for Pepperdine University. Following this, he was drafted by the Phoenix Suns in 1986. On the other side, Kysre's mother, Lisa Harvey, had played for Louisiana Tech University, even helping her team reach a national championship. Her older sister has also played basketball for Michigan State University. Kysre admitted to Pat Boylan:
“Coming from a basketball heritage…basketball runs in my blood. I think it comes very natural and instinctive to me, and my IQ is something that people are enamoured with, so being around the game at a young age allows me to be free when I’m playing and fully understand the game from both ends.”
Reportedly, when Kysre Gondrezick was in her final collegiate season, her father passed away, leaving her to navigate the loss when she declared for the WNBA Draft. According to her, it was her father who “spoke everything into existence,” and he was confident that she could join the WNBA. Kysre recalled to Pat that the day after the last season, her dad told her that she would have to get in shape, she would have an All-American season, and that she would become a top five draft pick. Kysre said that because he cultivated the moment for her, she was excited to keep it going for him.
Back in January 2022, after she was waived by the Fever, Kysre Gondrezick joined the Chicago Sky's training camp. Although she did not make the final roster for opening night, she chose to return to the camp once again in February 2024. By May of the same year, Kysre played her first game for the team on their Opening Day roster. While she was playing for the Chicago Sky, she was teammates with Angel Reese. The two went on to form a close bond and were also seen making TikToks together. Later, Kysre was released from the Chicago Sky in June 2024.
For those unaware, in June 2024, Jaylen Brown snagged the championship win along with the Celtics. That is when eagle-eyed fans noticed that Kysre Gondrezick was beside Jaylen when he celebrated at the parade in Boston. The following month, the duo were also photographed by TMZ, getting into a van and walking arm in arm.
For those unaware, Kysre Gondrezick and Jaylen Brown confirmed their relationship at the 2024 ESPY Awards red carpet. Reportedly, Jaylen addressed Kysre as his “beautiful date” on the livestream. Pictures from the event show that Jaylen and Kysre were dressed in matching black ensembles. While Kysre wore a dress featuring lace details and a high collar, her boyfriend, Jaylen, chose to wear a suit and completed his look with a brooch and sunglasses.
