Deepinder Goyal announced his resignation as the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Eternal Ltd (the parent company of Zomato and Blinkit) on January 21, 2026. Albinder Singh Dhindsa, the founder and current CEO of Blinkit, will take over the vacant position on February 1, 2026. Deepinder Goyal will transition to the role of Vice Chairman and Director on the board, focusing on long-term strategy, culture, and ethics rather than day-to-day operations. As for Albinder, he will now oversee all group-wide execution and business decisions, while maintaining his focus on Blinkit as a top priority.
In a letter to shareholders, Deepinder Goyal shared the reason for his stepping down as the CEO of Eternal. The 42-year-old explained that his decision was driven by a desire to pursue "significantly higher-risk" ideas and experimental ventures. He believes this transition will reinforce Eternal's institutional discipline by placing execution in the hands of "battle-hardened" operators like Albinder Singh Dhindsa. Deepinder Goyal's wife, Grecia Munoz, is an entrepreneur and former model. Originally from Mexico, she had a successful modelling career and was the winner of the Metropolitan Fashion Week award in the United States in 2022. Grezia also worked as a television host. According to a report by Hindustan Times, she entered modelling to better understand the fashion industry before pivoting to entrepreneurship. She is currently an entrepreneur working on her own startup in the luxury consumer products sector.
Deepinder and Grecia met in late 2023 or early 2024 after being introduced by a mutual friend when Munoz first moved to Delhi. Deepinder had been single for a long time since his divorce from his first wife. During that time, his friend called him to say, "There's a girl here you should meet." Notably, this same friend, previously advised Deepinder against getting into a serious relationship or remarriage, but later predicted, "You'll end up marrying her [Grecia]." Sharing the same in The Great Indian Kapil Show in 2024, Deepinder stated:
"When Grecia first came to Delhi, a friend called me and said, 'There's a girl here you should meet.' I agreed, and he said, 'Make sure to meet her; you'll end up marrying her. It was his foresight. He had always told me not to get serious, but this time he said, 'You have to marry if you find a girl like her.'"
During their first meeting, Deepinder looked for a way to secure a second encounter. After learning Grecia Munoz was skilled in yoga, he suggested she help him with it the following morning, which led to their first breakfast date. While on their subsequent dates, the couple found out their commons interests and felt a sense of comfort in each other's company. Deepinder revealed that he loves Indian food and was thrilled to know that Grecia loves Chole Bhature.
Deepinder found spending time with Grecia refreshing, as she was new to India, and also primarily because she knew nothing about Zomato or his status as its founder. He reportedly did not tell her about his role in the company for the first four months of their relationship. Hilariously, once she knew about it, whenever he tried to send her flirty DMs, Grecia forwarded them to Zomato's marketing head to use as a customer notification. The couple connected instantly and "interviewed" each other for about three hours during one of their early meetings to ensure they were compatible. As they understood that their feelings for each other were similar, they decided to get married.
Deepinder Goyal and Grecia Munoz tied the knot in a private ceremony in early 2024. News of their marriage first surfaced in March 2024 after they returned from their honeymoon in France. Following their marriage, she updated her social media profile to reflect her new name, Gia Goyal, and relocated to India, stating she is "now at home." The loving wife, Grecia has been seen supporting her husband’s business ventures. In late 2024, the couple made headlines for working together as Zomato delivery agents for a day in Gurgaon to better understand the challenges of delivery personnel. As of January 2026, Deepinder Goyal and his second wife, Grecia Munoz, do not have any children together. However, Deepinder has one daughter from his previous marriage, Siara Goyal. Siyara was born in 2013, illuminating the lives of Deepinder and his first wife, Kanchan Joshi, a professor at Delhi University whom he met at IIT Delhi. Deepinder and Kanchan got married in 2007, just a year before Goyal co-founded Zomato. Their exact date and reason of separation is not publicly known.
