Taylor Simone Ledward Boseman is an American singer and music industry professional. She completed her education at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, in 2014 with a degree in Music Industry Studies.
Taylor used to perform as the lead vocalist for the University's Jazz band during her college days. In turn, she pursued a music career.
She first rose to fame during her relationship with Chadwick. They reportedly began to date around 2015 and chose to keep it private. Eventually, the couple made a joint appearance together at the 2019 Screen Actors Guild Awards before quietly marrying in 2020, only months before his death.
Later, she stayed by his side throughout his cancer battle and cared for him. On the other hand, Chadwick continued to shoot some of the biggest productions in Hollywood. Since his death, she has worked to carry forward his legacy.
For the same purpose, Taylor accepted many of Chadwick's posthumous awards, such as on his behalf, like the Golden Globes, Critics' Choice Awards, and Gotham Award. In fact, in 2025, she also accepted his posthumous star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Apart from these things, she also works to raise awareness about cancer and participates in initiatives that promote earlier detection and research. Meanwhile, her debut album, The Mornings, in 2023, included a tribute to her late husband.
Chadwick Boseman passed away on August 28, 2020, at the age of 43 after a private four-year battle with colon cancer. He was first diagnosed with Stage 3 colon cancer, in 2026. But, he chose to keep it under wraps.
Despite undergoing surgeries and chemotherapy, Chadwick continued to work on many films, including Black Panther, Avengers: Infinity War, Avengers: Endgame, Da 5 Bloods, and Ma Rainey's Black Bottom. Eventually, his death shocked everyone since only a few knew about his illness.
Marvel Studios later honoured the actor by choosing not to recast 'King T'Challa' in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Instead, the film paid tribute to Chadwick's life and lasting impact on the audience.
A new legal dispute has started over the administration of Chadwick Boseman's estate. According to a court filing, Kevin and Derrick Boseman claimed that Taylor did not completely carry out a 2022 probate court order to divide the estate between her and his parents since he died without leaving a will.
So, the actor's brothers alleged that she has not completed the distribution of his estate assets such as bank accounts, insurance policies, royalties, movie residuals and more. They also claim that the family has been kept in the dark about the estate's financial status and cannot access the assets that belong to them. In turn, they are asking the court to remove her as administrator and appoint an independent administrator to complete the estate's accounting.
At the same time, they want the court to prevent her from entering into major agreements over Chadwick's estate without his family's approval. However, Taylor has not publicly responded to the latest petition.
