Despite his efforts to perfect his health, he recently made a shocking revelation that he has been diagnosed with autoimmune gastritis (AIG). Amid this, the focus has also shifted towards his personal life, especially his girlfriend, Kate Tolo.
Kate Tolo is reportedly from Australia and is currently 30 years old. She had the opportunity to become the first woman and the second person to trial Blueprint, an age-reversing programme developed by her boyfriend, Bryan Johnson. Kate is the co-founder and Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) of Don't Die, Blueprint, and Immortals.
When she was only 20 years old, Kate decided to move to New York to become a fashion designer. However, when she read about Bryan back in 2016, she became more drawn towards his motto. Recalling the time during an interview, she said, “And I thought, ‘Well, there he is, that's the person I'm going to align myself with and really pour my energy into.’” Four years after she reached out to him in 2021, she heard back from him and soon joined him as his assistant.
Bryan and Tolo officially confirmed their relationship in December 2025. She not only supports him as his partner but has also played a significant part in the longevity movement that has captivated many people worldwide since the release of the Netflix documentary, Don't Die: The Man Who Wants To Live Forever. Bryan is known for often gushing about his girlfriend. He confessed that when he first saw Tolo, it gave him butterflies. He said:
“Kate was luminescent. When I saw her about the office, butterflies fluttered in my stomach. Each day she’d show up wearing some unexpected combination of colours, textures, styles, and accessories. Always tasteful, playful, and interesting. She didn't choose fancy brands. Most of her clothing was from the thrift store. It wasn't how she looked but how her mind worked: original, eccentric, entirely her own. She was art.”
For those who don't know, many people refer to Kate Tolo as the female version of Bryan Johnson. Even Bryan agrees to the fact that they are very similar people and that she is someone whom he deeply trusts. He stated:
“We are from entirely different worlds, but somehow the same person…I trust Kate as much as my mother. She knows how to scaffold trust. She anticipated your anticipation and knows your reaction before you react. She's meticulous in the integrity of our relationship. She's even been pivotal in helping my father and me reconcile and contours of our relationship.”
Bryan Johnson, 48, recently took to his social media to reveal that he has been diagnosed with autoimmune gastritis (AIG), a rare autoimmune disease in which the body's immune system attacks the lining of the stomach by mistake. He claimed that his “stomach is eating itself” and although there is currently no cure for the condition, he is determined to try and solve it with the help of medical monitoring and experimental therapies. An excerpt from his post can be read as:
“I have an autoimmune disease. My stomach is eating itself. Bad news #2: 2–5% of people have this, too. Likely more, because it hides. Good news: I'm going to try and solve it. Will share all… I had a few healthy years in my early 20s but then became a young father of three and began building a business. Juggling that stress and grind, I let my health slip and gained 40 lbs…Somewhere in that timeline, my body began developing an autoimmune process affecting my thyroid and then my stomach lining. It’s called Autoimmune Gastritis (AIG).”
