Speaking to Parade, the singer revealed that his approach to the show was anything but typical as he took zero pressure, and even tried to get himself out of the show earlier.

Phillip Phillips got married to Hannah Blackwell back in 2015. Hannah, a native of South Georgia, is a mental health professional. Speaking about his therapist wife, Phillip Phillips revealed to an interview with Golden Magazine that he finds therapy in music, while her muse, Hannah, is a therapist. He stated that he just follows everything he tells her to do, and it just works out for the best.
Speaking about his wife, Phillip Phillips revealed that his wife is his 'bestie' and he can just tell anything to her, and even though they fight, they can resolve it pretty quickly. Sharing how his wife, Hannah, being a therapist, could help him, the singer revealed to Golden Magazine:
"Writing music for me is therapeutic, and Hannah is a therapist, too. I do what she tells me to do, and it all works out at some point."
It was in 2018 when Phillip Phillips met Hannah Blackwell. Hannah is two years younger than Phillip Phillips. The singer was 18 years old when he first crossed paths with Hannah Blackwell, while volunteering at his sister's charity organisation, Mission Change. As per The Hollywood Reporter, Hannah was going to nursing school while she starred in Phillips's music video, Home and later joined him on his tour.
Phillip Phillips and Hannah Blackwell got married in 2015 in Albany, Georgia, in front of 250 of the couple's family and friends. Speaking about their wedding, Hannah told PEOPLE that when she first met Phillip, she just had to answer a whole lot of the questions.
She also mentioned that he's just a calming presence in her life, and she feels really calm and comfortable with him. Hannah has become one of the muses of Phillip Phillips for his songs. "It is a special song about my family and Hannah and our relationship from when we first started together to where we are now. My brother-in-law put the video together. I sent him a lot of footage and wanted to build it from before we were married, to getting married, having a baby, and where we are now."
Hannah Blackwell and Phillip Phillips got married in 2015, and four years later, in 2019, the couple welcomed their first child, a baby boy, into their lives. The duo named their son, Patch, after the film, Patch Adams. Phillip Phillips extended their family by welcoming their daughter into their lives in 2015. Speaking about joining The Masked Singers, Phillip Phillips revealed that his kids were the main factors that led him to be a part of the show.
Stating more about the same, Phillip mentioned that his kids just love costumes like Spider-Man and Star Wars and all of it, which made him feel that the little ones would be very excited about the same. Phillip could be quoted as saying:
"My kid loves costumes. He loves, you know, Star Wars and Spider-Man and all of that stuff. I thought it might be cool for him to see dad in a costume,” he said, adding, “We love Halloween, so… that was like it kind of ties into it a little bit.”
