Mandira Bedi Pays Silent Tribute To Her Late Husband, Raj Kaushal, Six Days After His Death

Mandira Bedi had lost her husband, Raj Kaushal on June 30, 2021. Six days after his death, Mandira paid him a silent tribute on her IG handle.

Mandira Bedi had met her late husband, Raj Kaushal in 1996 and after dating for three years, they had tied the knot in February 1999. 12 years after their happy married life, the couple had welcomed their first child, a baby boy, Vir Kaushal, and nine years after his birth, they had adopted a baby girl, Tara Bedi Kaushal in 2020. The family of four was living their happy life together until the morning of June 30, 2021.

June 30, 2021, brought with it the biggest setback for the Bedi-Kaushal family as Mandira Bedi’s husband and filmmaker, Raj Kaushal breathed his last. According to reports, it was around 4 am that Raj had complained about getting a heart attack and Mandira had called their close friend, Ashish Chowdhry to rush him to the hospital. However, it was too late and before they could reach, Raj had left this world, leaving his wife and kids.

While Mandira Bedi is finding it hard to control her tears, the strength she has shown is unmatchable. It’s been six days since Raj Kaushal’s death and now Mandira paid him a silent tribute. Mourning her husband’s death, Mandira deleted her Instagram profile picture, adding a black screen instead. Mandira Bedi also shared pictures with her late husband, Raj Kaushal from one of their dinner dates and captioned it with a heartbroken emoticon.

Raj Kaushal’s sudden death has shaken Mandira Bedi to the core, however, the actress still displayed the strongest side of her as she performed her husband’s last rites. Mandira was seen giving a shoulder to her husband’s body and carrying the earthen pot, giving a message of gender equality. Mandira was praised by millions for breaking the gender stereotype of a male performing the last rites.

While many had praised her for her act, a section of society had trolled her for performing her husband’s last rites. Many people had also called her out for her outfit as she had worn a white t-shirt with denim at the funeral.

Mandira Bedi's close friend and actor, Mini Mathur and singer, Sona Mohapatra came out in her support, slamming the trolls for their shallow thinking. Sona had tweeted, “That some people are still commenting on Mandira Bedi’s dress code or choice to carry out her husband Raj Kushal’s last rites shouldn’t surprise us. Stupidity is more abundant than any other element in our world after all."

Mini Mathur’s tweet in Mandira Bedi’s support could be read as “Makes me sick that people are having a field day trolling a grieving woman for performing last rites on her husband instead of asking a stranger or her tiny kid. Or for not having the time to dress the way THEY imagine grieving women should dress. Fools!! Applaud her strength!"

Mandira Bedi and Raj Kaushal had known each other for 25 years and for a woman to put up this brave stance, is commendable!
