New brides, chill out! You have entered a new phase of life, not taken a new birth! Your family and friends from your 'pre-marriage' phase should be as important now as they were before. You just cannot cut ties off them. We do understand your hands are full, with all the new set of relatives and a new family to get to know about. However, all you need is a bit of time management skills, so that you do not miss out the news about your best friends' new car or your cousin's engagement.

Remember, it is only the priorities that change, not your relationships. Well, here are five tips to manage your friends and family after marriage that will surely help all new brides immensely.

#1. Take calls from your friends and family

There are girls who absolutely stop taking calls from friends after marriage. Agreed, you get quite busy post-wedding. Your mother-in-law loves talking to you, new relatives are always pouring in and out, your husband demands attention, you are in love and you are going all gaga about your new family. But, your old mates care and love you too. They are worried about your well-being in your new home. So, obviously your friends will call! Talk to them because they know you in and out, and will understand your new concerns and happiness.

#2. Always return calls and messages

If you have had a busy day, or were too tired to talk to people, simply inform them. Later when you are free, return their calls or messages. If you are not in the habit of returning calls, then soon, you will realise that you have lost so many people who were important to you. It is not that you need to be constantly taking calls, but make sure you drop a text once in a while to make the person feel important.

Ladies, you had a life before marriage! Granted, a lot of things after you get married. But, do not change everything you used to do. For example, if you loved meeting your friends every Sunday before marriage, then at least try to meet them fortnightly. If you loved hanging out at new joints, take your husband along! A little bit of planning is all what it takes to keep your social life intact!

You want people to like all your posts after wedding, you tag yourself at every place you visit with your spouse, but you forget to like/comment/wish other people. You have been so self-indulgent that it becomes only about you! This is an absolute no-no! New love obviously makes you do that, but hey girl, do not be so self-obsessed, and pay some attention to your friends and family as well.

Your husband obviously would want you to meet and love his friends/cousins. Then, why cannot you expect the same. Make your husband meet your friends too.
