While he was often seen by the President's side, people remained in awe of him, giving him the nickname 'National Crush'. According to recent reports, it was revealed that Rishabh Singh Sambyal decided to retire after 12 years of service, and his decision left everyone wondering what the reason behind it was.
Rishabh Singh Sambyal hasn't revealed the real reason behind his decision; however, he shared that serving the nation was something that he had dreamt about since childhood. Amid his premature retirement, his alleged age also started surfacing. So, let's have a look at the new information about the 'National Crush' that is surfacing amid his early departure from service.
If the reporters are to be believed, Major Rishabh Singh Sambyal is in his early 30s. His birth year hasn't been publicly revealed through military records; however, social media posts hint that his birthday is on March 11. Based on his entrance exam in 2013 and the fact that he was commissioned back in 2018, it was revealed that the 'National Crush' might be in his early thirties. Major Rishabh Singh Sambyal's career began back in 2013, when he passed the entrance exam to join the Indian Army as an officer.
Following that, in 2014, Rishabh joined the National Defence Academy and earned a degree in International Relations and Affairs before joining the Indian Military Academy to complete his training. In 2018, he commissioned into the Indian Army as a lieutenant, and subsequently volunteered for and cleared selection for the 4 Para (Special Forces).
During this time, he also earned the Balidaan Badge. Back in 2021, Rishabh Singh Sambyal won the Best Marching Contingent trophy as he led the Jat Regiment Marching Contingent on Republic Day on Rajpath. Two years later, he was assigned to become President Droupadi Murmu's former Aide-de-Camp (ADC). Since then, he has been spotted alongside the President and has eventually grabbed social media's attention, earning him the tag of 'National Crush'. In 2026, after 12 years of service, Rishabh Singh Sambyal decided to take a step back from his position.
As per reports, the decision stemmed from personal or family reasons, something that he reportedly shared during a Live session two weeks back. In a clip, he was seen speaking about how he keeps himself motivated. He shared that he often felt like 'giving up'; however, according to him, what kept him from that phase was him deciding that he wouldn't do it just 'today' but 'tomorrow'. This is how he kept himself motivated every day by not letting himself go anywhere near 'giving up'. There have been several questions regarding his personal life as well.
Earlier social media posts claimed that Rishabh Singh Sambyal was married. However, during the same IG Live, Rishabh addressed the buzz and revealed that he is neither married nor does he have a girlfriend, to begin with.
He further addressed the buzz that he might be leaving his organisation and the country, as he would be settling down abroad by marrying someone there. Rishabh dismissed such false speculation around him and said there are no plans of him to get married in the near future.
