Madhuri has hardly spoken about her kids and her equation with them, but recently, when she spoke to Pinkvilla, she poured her heart out.

Madhuri talked about her bond with her kids- Arin and Raayan. She also shared how she is trying to be a modern-day parent at the same time. The 52-year-old actress was quoted as saying, "We discuss everything - from what happens in school to what's going on in their lives. We talk about everything under the sun. We're more like friends to them, but I have always maintained that I'm a mother too. One has to be open for a give and take.” (Also Read: Sonam Kapoor-Rhea Kapoor Give Bridesmaids Goals As They Attend A Cousin's Haldi, Pics Inside)

She further went on to add, “You need to listen to them to understand what's going on." Arin and Raayan also love the classic movies that MD has been a part of. She smiles, "That day, my kid was telling me he wants to learn hip hop. 'Have you done hip hop?' he asked me. I asked him to watch Que Sara Sara and they found it really cool. It was nice. They keep watching my films as and when they get time and it's on TV. They have a few favourites which keep changing each time."

When she was further probed to tell if both teenagers give their opinion on the kind of projects she takes up. To this, she replied, "My kids are too young to ask them about what films I should be doing. Something had happened and I was thinking maybe I shouldn't because I thought what if I can't pull it off. But then, my younger one said, 'Mom you're an actress. You should be able to do any kind of role'." (Checkout: Shahid Kapoor Reveals Why He Didn't Take Misha And Zain Along For Unveiling His Wax Statue)

The Kalank actress further shared, "They are also very open and educated. Kids know so much nowadays and it's amazing to see the kind of information they have. They will sit and analyse a whole movie. They would say things like 'Why would they do it?' and 'There are too many sub plots'. When we were kids, we would just go and watch a film and clap. Today, thanks to my kids, I know I'm catering to that kind of audience who's much more informed. You need to keep up with the times."

Earlier, in an interaction with a leading daily, Madhuri had talked about her life post-marriage and the changes she had experienced, “Marriage changes all of us to some degree, no matter what people say. Some of the changes are common to all marriages like your schedules and time with family, etc. It’s great to have a life partner you can depend on. At the same time, you now have to look out for the family unit. In our case, the issue of her being a celebrity makes some things difficult or impossible. This is more the case in India than in the US. However, it hasn’t really changed my identity or personality.” (Don't Miss: Shakti Arora's Wife, Neha Saxena Posts A Heartfelt Wish For Her 'Special Man' On His 33rd Birthday)
