The newest edition of Lust Stories will bring back Vikramaditya Motwane, Kiran Rao, Shakun Batra, and Vishal Bhardwaj. Every filmmaker will tell you a different story.
In Netflix's Lust Stories 3, according to social media reports, a story exploring themes of relationships, intimacy, and the emotions that come with them is featured. Lust Stories 3 will be produced by RSVP, along with Flying Unicorn Entertainment.
Lust Stories fans can expect more than just romance in the web series. The title naturally makes one think that the plot may revolve around sensuality and also intimate storytelling. The franchise earlier used desire as a key element to showcase social dynamics and also relationships.
The official description given by Netflix states that the new chapters will explore not only themes related to lust but also repressed desires. It will also showcase the complex nature of human emotions. The stories will showcase what the characters want and the feelings they suppress, which affect their relationships.
Ruchikaa Kapoor Sheikh, Director, Original Films, Netflix India, shared what makes the anthology different from the rest. Four filmmakers will be seen bringing out their different voices, and she shared in a statement:
"What gives Lust Stories its enduring appeal is its ability to reinvent itself. Each chapter begins with a shared human impulse and arrives at a completely different emotional truth. Here, desire opens a window into power, vulnerability, agency, compromise, and the things people struggle to say aloud."
The four stories will dive deep into the themes of vulnerability, relationships, desire, and love. Each director will have their own take on the complex emotions and showcase different forms of intimacy. Ruchika further added that four of India’s leading directors, Vikramaditya Motwane, Kiran Rao, Shakun Batra, and Vishal Bhardwaj, will offer four varied perspectives. In her words:
"United by a singular vision: inviting audiences to interpret these relationships through the lens of their own experiences. Together with RSVP and Flying Unicorn Entertainment, we’re proud to carry this creative legacy forward. Each film offers a distinct perspective, while leaving audiences room to form their own interpretations. That is the power of this anthology.”
Ronnie Screwvala, Producer, RSVP, also stated that the Lust Stories franchise has completely evolved. This has been seen in every new edition. Lust Stories 3 filmmakers will be getting stories that challenge the most conventional ideas about relationships. He stated:
"With every edition, Lust Stories has challenged conventions by bringing together exceptional filmmakers to tell deeply human stories. Over the years, the anthology has continued to evolve, reflecting the changing nuances of relationships and the many shades of modern intimacy.
