Lucknow-based Shiv Sharma's mother allegedly accused his girlfriend of assaulting and murdering her son.

For the unversed, in a tragic turn of events, 28-year-old café owner Shiva passed away after he fell from his girlfriend Shraddha Dubey’s fourth-floor flat in the Hazratganj area of Lucknow on October 9, 2026. The case took a dramatic turn after Shiva’s mother, Ranjana Sharma, accused his girlfriend and claimed foul play in the circumstances leading to his death.
According to the latest report, Shiva Sharma’s mother, Ranjana Sharma, alleged that her son's girlfriend, Shraddha Dubey, had been threatening to circulate obscene videos of him and defame him. As per Ranjana, Shiva had been subjected to physical violence during their relationship. Ranjana also claimed the relationship became a source of pressure for her son.
In her complaint, Ranjana stated she had noticed injury marks on Shiva on many occasions, and whenever she questioned him about it, he would avoid discussing the matter. Ranjana also stated that when she saw her son’s body, there were multiple injury marks, including cigarette burn marks on his ribs, shoulders, arms and thighs, which made her believe that her son was subjected to assault before his death.
Going further in her complaint, Ranjana claimed that Shraddha, who is a social media influencer, had often blackmailed Shiva. The mother stated that Shraddha threatened Shiva with a past case and told him that she would send him back to jail using her alleged connections. Ranjana highlighted that when she asked Shraddha about her decision regarding marriage, she agreed, but her behavior towards him soon changed.
She also referred to an occasion when Shiva returned home for his father's death anniversary. During that period, Dubey allegedly telephoned him repeatedly and threatened to implicate him in a theft case if he did not return to her.
According to the reports, when Shiva’s body was found, he was only wearing his underwear, with lipstick on his face and makeup on his body. The case took a sensational turn when police recovered s*x toys and s**ual enhancement medicines from the apartment.
In her complaint, Ranjana said Shraddha called to say Shiva had fallen from her balcony and was being taken to the hospital. The mother said she called again and was told that Dubey's driver had taken her son to a hospital. Ranjana rushed to the hospital; she found a private ambulance parked there with Shraddha’s driver. When the mother asked the driver what happened, he denied having any knowledge of the incident and left the body there. Shiva was subsequently taken into the hospital, where doctors declared him dead.
In the postmortem report, many traumatising findings were noted. The report detailed 11 entries of external injuries and six broad categories of internal findings. The report notes tears in both lungs, injuries to the liver and spleen, substantial internal bleeding, and a fracture of the right pelvic bone. Doctors attributed his death to shock and hemorrhage resulting from the injuries.
Police have registered a murder case naming Shraddha, her sister, their driver, and two others following the mother's complaint. Investigators are examining CCTV footage from the apartment complex, chats between Shiva and Shraddha, and other evidence to establish the circumstances surrounding his death.
