The filing came almost a year after her rep confirmed in October 2025 that the couple was living apart. Married since November 1997, they share daughters Olivia Jade and Isabella Rose. Their split follows years of strain after the 2019 college admissions scandal.
Lori Loughlin and Mossimo Giannulli were together for almost 30 years before their recent separation. The duo first met in 1995. At the time, Loughlin was already a household name as 'Aunt Becky' on ABC's Full House, while Giannulli was a successful fashion designer best known for founding the youth lifestyle brand Mossimo.
Loughlin had been previously married to investment banker Michael R. Burns from 1989 until their divorce in 1996. Soon after, her romance with Giannulli became serious. Instead of a large Hollywood wedding, the couple chose something intimate. They eloped on November 27, 1997, on Thanksgiving weekend.
Loughlin later shared that they woke up at sunrise, met with Mossimo's best friend and a minister, got married, and then went straight to Thanksgiving dinner to tell their family.
Marriage quickly turned them into a blended family. Giannulli had a son, Gianni, from a previous relationship, and Loughlin embraced her role as a stepmother. A year after their wedding, they welcomed their first daughter together, Isabella Rose, in September 1998, followed by their second daughter, Olivia Jade, in September 1999.

In May 2020, Loughlin pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit wire and mail fraud and served two months in late 2020. Giannulli pleaded to conspiracy and honest services fraud and served five months until April 2021.
After news of their separation broke in October 2025, a report by PEOPLE stated that the scandal had played a significant role in the split. According to the outlet's source, Lori's friends rallied behind her, disliked Giannulli, and were very angry with him. Another insider was quoted as saying she remained extremely angry with him.
Loughlin's Full House co-star John Stamos also weighed in on Josh Peck's Good Guys podcast, where he described Loughlin as not being a liar and as being a saint, and said she did not deserve to be dragged through the situation. He added that he knew for a fact that Giannulli was responsible for the decision that led to their legal trouble.
Loughlin's representative confirmed in October 2025 that they were living apart. On September 4, 2026, Loughlin filed for divorce in Los Angeles, citing irreconcilable differences, listing August 31, 2025, as the separation date, and referencing their 1997 prenup, amended in 2015.
