Lindsay Clancy's case has been one of the most talked-about cases in recent times. Lindsay, the mom of three, allegedly killed her children by strangling them. Lindsay, who was also a nurse, was charged with three murders and pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity.

The trial is ongoing in this case, and while prosecutors mentioned that Lindsay had preplanned the killing of her children, the mother's defense team has not denied that she killed her kids; however, they maintained in court that she was dealing with postpartum psychosis. Patrick Clancy, Lindsay's other family members, psychologists, psychiatrists, and others testified in the trial. Amid this, a reporter in this case came forward, as she faced some violent reactions for her nervous response during the trial.

Freelance reporter has been receiving death threats over a nervous response during Lindsay Clancy trial

A freelance reporter named Brittany Romano has grabbed attention, as a photo of her made the rounds on social media. The photo was from Lindsay Clancy's trial, where Brittany Romano was seen smiling. No sooner did the photo make the rounds on social media than the reporter started getting bashed, and apparently she has been getting death threats as well.

Taking to her social media handle, Brittany Romano shared a statement in which she revealed that she has been getting death threats on a continuous basis ever since a publication released her photo from the trial room, where she was seen smiling.

She then clarified that while she was seen smiling, it was just a nervous response, and she does the same when she is nervous, uncomfortable, or anxious, which she thinks is not indifference but rather her nervous system managing strain. She went on to reveal that women are often asked to prove themselves, which, according to Brittany, is the same logic that followed Lindsay for years.

The reporter pointed out how the other journalists were smiling beside her, while adding that the death threats came from people who apparently have been defending Clancy. Brittany shared her share of mental struggles during her childhood because of her mother's bipolar disorder, which was so intense that she had to be removed by DCF.

Brittany also made a shocking claim, stating that she went to Vanity Fair not for a favor but to request that the scales be rebalanced. The reason Brittany revealed was that they gave 'Patrick Clancy a platform to tell his version when the case first broke, a version that now conflicts with his own sworn testimony'.

She also clarified that she never had any contract with Vanity Fair, which recently reported that it revoked her access (she was allegedly about to write a story for them, per TMZ) because she was smiling at the court. Brittany further questioned how the defenders of Lindsay can come and just provide her with the resources and ways to kill herself, while even threatening to kill her in her sleep, and if, by that, they actually are supporting women's mental health.

Lindsay Clancy's case update

Speaking of Lindsay Clancy's case, the trial has been ongoing, and in the last proceeding, Dr. Kirk Heilbrun, who evaluated Clancy for three days, said that he diagnosed her with Bipolar II disorder but argued, stating that she did not have any manic episodes. He also shared his perspective, stating there could be two possible reasons that Clancy might have killed her three kids. One possibility was that she felt her kids would suffer without her and killing them was the only way out for all of them to be together in heaven, and the other was acute psychosis. He argued about the second possibility, giving an example of how she responded to her husband, Patrick, after he found her injured in the yard.
