Kushal Tandon Breaks Silence On His 'Tujhe Meri Cheezein Pasand Aati Hai' Remark, 'Boys' Talk...'

Actor Kushal Tandon has been dominating headlines for some time now. In the last few weeks, Kushal garnered significant attention for his stint on the show, Alliance. It’s been a week since Alliance found its first winner, Mini Mathur, but the audience still remembers a seemingly demeaning comment by Kushal on the show. For the unversed, in an episode of Alliance, Kushal told Zaid Darbar, "Tujhe meri saari cheezein pasand aati hain." In a recent interview, he broke his silence on it.

Earlier, in July 2026, a video from the show, Alliance featuring Kushal Tandon and Zaid Darbar quickly went viral on the internet. In the now-viral clip, the duo was seen working out at a gym. At the time, Zaid was speaking to other contestants and recalled a conversation he had with Kushal in the cigarette room. Zaid mentioned that as the cigarettes he had were not good, he asked Kushal to lend him his cigarettes. In response, Kushal said to Zaid, "Tujhe meri saari cheezein pasand aati hai."

Kushal’s remark didn’t sit well with the netizens, and people slammed him for the same. Now, in an interview with News18 Showsha, Kushal explained that it was simply a fun-loving banter between the two friends. He clarified that it was not meant for his ex-girlfriend, Gauahar Khan, who is Zaid’s now-wife. He described the conversation as just a 'boys’ talk'. Explaining it further, Kushal said:

"It was just boys’ talk. I would smoke a cigarette, and he (Zaid) would want my cigarette. Whenever I was drinking coffee, he would want my coffee too. It was just a joke and part of the bond we shared. At that time, it didn’t even occur to me that I was talking about a particular person or how people would interpret it."

In the same interview, Kushal mentioned his comment was blown out of proportion. In fact, it was just a joke to him and unnecessarily, a controversy was made out of it. In his words:

"When two guys talk, they joke, ‘He seems to like everything that’s mine,’ and that was all there was to it. But people blew it out of proportion. Since there were no fights, they had to find something else, and when there was no controversy, they created one."

Further, in the interview, Kushal opened up about his bond with ex-girlfriend, Gauahar Khan’s husband, Zaid Darbar. He shared that everyone thought that they would fight, but it didn’t happen as they are mature people. Kushal mentioned that his bond with Zaid is like that of two boys who meet at a boarding school. He added that he even forgot that Zaid was Gauahar’s husband. Kushal also shared that their friendship would last a long time. He was quoted as saying:

"Everyone probably thought Zaid and Kushal would fight. But we are mature people. Our past was 15 years ago, and we are all grown up. And I love the guy. Our bond was like the bond two boys form when they meet at a boarding school. That’s exactly the kind of bond we had. I even forgot that he is Gauahar’s husband. For me, he is simply a guy I met for the first time on the show, and I gelled with him. Our friendship will last a long time."
